   My colleague were fortunate enough to have lunch at The Pearl of China. She had prawn toast and vegetarian, I had spring roll followed by beef with black bean sauce and rice noodles. The spring rolls were delicious, not too oily or salty with a perfect pastry texture. The beef dish was tender and flavourful with plenty of meat and just a tiny amount of chilli which was exactly the right amount for me. All ordered and served without delay, ideal for a working lunch. The atmosphere was relaxing with clean, attractive decoration. We had a chance to meet the charismatic and gracious manager. We will certainly eat there again when next in the area.

   Absolutely appalling food at extortionate prices. £70 for a two-people takeout of the lowest possible quality. Ordered egg-fried rice, Szechuan Chicken and Hot & Spicy Chicken. Everything was barely boiled and put into a flavourless sauce. The onion and veg were still crunchy and felt massively undercooked, the chicken looked pale and unappealing. Very disappointed, will never go again.

   We had a bday meal here last night and all staff were very friendly and polite. Amazing customer service it was a very busy night but they made you feel so welcome. Food was delicious and served hot with good portion sizes we even took food home as was a lot there. Thank you for making the bday meal special with the candle and dessert and signing I look forward to receiving the photos ☺️

   My first time in this Chinese restaurant. A good find because the food is good, the service is very attentive, and the restaurant looks nice. A strange glass partition down the middle of the restaurant, but it doe snot detract from the experience. The crispy duck was a little dry. The hot and sour soup was excellent.

   We wanted to try somewhere new and what a pleasant surprise! We’ve ordered set A and added a few extras and they were all delicious. We especially like the hot and sour soup, special fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. We can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

   I booked the Pearl of China for family birthday and a celebration of life for 10 people. For ease of ordering we had both set menus (including the vegetarian one as their veg dishes, like the aubergine, are incredibly good too). We also ordered a few of our favourites, the crispy beef and ma po tofu. The food never disappoints and we are a Chinese family, with a great chef whose life we were celebrating, so we know good Chinese food and this is really good. No MSG is used which also means the food, while still delicious feels cleaner and better for you. Wei and her staff are also wonderful. As a special touch they decorated our table with a birthday balloon, banner and even made us a apple and banana fritter cake with candle. We usually order take away from the Pearl of China, but it was fantastic to have the in restaurant experience too. Price wise; of course it's not the cheapest, but it's not the most expensive, it's well priced for the excellent quality you get. We are very lucky to have such a good Chinese restaurant nearby with seriously good chefs from Hong Kong. We love it! Best around.
