We saw the restaurant on the walk from the Royal Albert Hall to the Natural History Museum and thought we’d just stop for coffee. The menu lured us in; we didn’t think they’d be too big, but they were and were absolutely lush so we ate it all!!! We had lattes (soya for me),the jacket potato with sour cream and vegetables (an absolute mass of perfectly pan fried onion, mushroom, peppers, broccoli & more), & the goats cheese with beetroot, lambs leaf, walnuts (on side as boyfriend ate as I’m allergic), & balsamic. Plus I had a pretzel. So gluten free & veggie for the BF, nut free for me & they made it all super easy. Service was great. Think I’m a big fan!!!

Popped in here for the vegan bratwurst but was fairly disappointed. Sliced potatoes and sauerkraut were good but the 2 vegan sausages were not good. I ordered the curry sauce but it was quite tangy for my liking and I've had better ones in Berlin. Lots of seats and you can seat at the bar too. Good selection of beers however the one I wanted was out of stock.... They have a cloakroom that I discovered much later and staff should advise of this when seating guests. Toilets are upstairs and generally fine, not sure if they had accessibility toilets. I won't be back as didn't like the food enough, considering the great vegan food in Berlin, I was optimistic but disappointed with this place.

Beautiful setting. One of the loveliest outdoor areas for a bar I’ve been to in London. The German beer and wine selections were great. I had the Pinot Gris and it was delicious. The currywurst sausage was great. The curry sauce less so for me. It was too vinegary. I don’t like vinegar. The wait staff was amazing. I tried the wine before settling on what I wanted. I would go back simply to sit in that peaceful garden. Ten out of ten.

Absolutely fantastic. 10 years plus since I’ve had Weißwurst. Just as I remember it. The skin peeled back lovely, beer and mustard worked well together. All you could want from a Bavarian breakfast apart from it was after 12! Rear terrace peaceful and plenty of shade.

Excellent experience at Steins! Very delicious food and drinks and highly recommend. It felt like we were on holiday. The vibe is cosy and relaxed with a minimalist ‘ski chalet’ decor. I enjoyed a delicious German organic Riesling (Burg Ravensburg Riesling, Baden), and my partner had a range of draught German beers (Dunkel, Weisser Hirsch, & Adlerkönig). We ordered the Bratwurst with sauerkraut, the duck confit, and the roast butternut squash and beetroot salad. The menu is excellent and we’ll have to return for the fondue and sharing platters! For starters we had a bowl of olives, cornichons and pickled onions (though it was mostly olives with a few cornichons and no onions), and a bread basket with warm rolls and a pretzel and packets of butter. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant felt clean. Food came at slightly odd times but only because the mains were very quick to cook. We did order the Sachertorte for pudding, but it never arrived. Despite that, we had a lovely evening and the food was very delicious and well presented.

First impressions, reasonably priced German fare, cooler inside than on the terrace on a hot day. This is the best Stein's I have visited the herring was particularly tasty and their Weiss beer refreshing.

I would say it’s my favourite restaurant in London. I am a regular at here and can always have a good time. The German-speaking gentleman who served me this time is the same person as previously when I had l drinks here and is welcoming and friendly as last time. If you enjoy authentic German food, elegant environment and want them with a reasonable price, then no doubt this is the place for you.

This place has real German food and beer. There are other German places in London where you get German dishes but not the actual food. You can get real ones here, also for a very reasonable price. Service was really good. The staff provided some generous portions of tasters for some beers that we were trying to choose from. They also have an amazing terrace through the back door that overlooks the garden behind. Amazing spot for a chill under the sun.

We were greeted, seated and looked after very nicely by two gentlemen. Online reservations and menu is accessible online, but only when you log in (wonder why is that), which caused a bit of fiddling, but otherwise - can't fault the whole experience. Sharing platter seems to be the best value for money and perfect before concert. Be aware though - 12,5% service charge is automatically included in the bill. Had a lovely experience, so not a negative per say, but still- would prefer to be given an opportunity to choose.
