I recently visited The Red House in Croxley Green. I ordered the haddock with green peas and chips. Unfortunately, the haddock was dark brown and overcooked. Although the replacement was better, it was still slightly overcooked as well, which made me unable to enjoy the meal. However, the atmosphere was still good, the drinks were pleasant, and the staff were alright

Management issue- Saturdays and Sundays should always have a chef present! We arrived at the pub for a meal at 4:30pm and were told the chef was on break. Correct that a chef is entitled to a break. However on the website it does not state no food between 16:30-17:30 due to chef being on break. Moving forward and lessons learnt, maybe a second chef would be a great support to growing the business and not poor management saying a chef needs a break after 10 hours shift.

From the moment we walked in Jay greeted us with great warmth and friendliness! Exceptional customer service from both Nikki and Jay. Food was immaculate, thanks to the chef and the staff for the pleasant hospitality. We will be returning as this was our first visit special shout out to Nikki making us feel so welcome. Great asset to the team!

This is a lovely looking pub. I was pleasantly surprised that it had table service and the waitress was very nice and friendly. We got our drinks and placed our order fine. Then we waited and waited. We waited nearly 45 minutes before we got our starter and then waited another 30-45 minutes for our main meal. If it was busy you would understand but it really didnt look that busy. Myself and my husband ordered a roast and my son ordered fish and chips. The vegetables and Yorkshire pudding was fine but the meat was awful. It was fatty and the little meat i could eat was like leather. My sons fish and chips looked lovely and he said it was nice. We would have liked dessert but simply did not have time to wait. It was such a shame because I really liked the pub. Maybe it was a bad day, im not sure. I might try and give it another go. But im not sure.

Writing this review whilst accually sat in the red house as i got here at 6.30 on a monday evening and it is currently 8.10 and i havent even had my meal yet. I keep being told that there is a new chef and that is the reason why its so long there is only 5 tables of people here with only 2 people on each table. They didnt have alot of food left on the menu and being gluten free made it hard of a choice. My food has now eventually come out at 8.15 and none of the food we ordered was hot. The waitress was lovely but looked over worked

Popped in The Red House with my 90 year old Mum on Monday for a quick lunch. We both enjoyed the senior meals for 7.99 for a 3 course meal. The starter and pudding were good size portions and the main was quite small but was plenty for us. All the staff were very friendly and professional. The garden is so cute! Lots of tables and chairs under cover with pretty fairy lights and plants. Inside the pub was very clean and welcoming. We will definitely be back soon

Lovely pub and friendly staff but the food portions were extremely small for what we paid. Half a teaspoon of mushy peas. I couldn't say anything at the time as I was with a friend but i did feel embarrassed as I had recommended it.

A lovely meal with friendly service. The food was good and well presented. We did not have to wait long for the food and the staff were very helpful. It was a little cool in the restaurant.

Really enjoyed my time here! Came in for a quick drink and a meal while visiting the area! Food was tasty, drinks had a familiar selection and the staff were really friendly. Highly recommend.
