   Still my favourite Chinese restaurant after 18 years. The food is beautifully cooked and presented and we are always greeted warmly by the owner. I think I've had the prawns in butter sauce every time I've been because it's the best thing I've ever tasted. Please don't ever stop doing it because I've never seen it anywhere else! I also recommend the soft shell crab and beef and cashew. Thank you for a lovely evening celebrating my son's birthday.

   This restaurant is always very quiet but we decided to give it a go and we are so pleased we did. The decor is not at all upmarket but reminded me so much of days long past hanging around back streets of Hong Kong. Service at Ume comes with a lovely smile, which seems rare when eating out in the Esher area. The food is cooked fresh and is delicious. We went for the set menu with duck, beef and prawns - £25 per person. Very reasonable. We will be returning. Highly recommended.

   Probably the best Chinese restaurant in the Surbiton / Claygate area. Food is always fresh, ordering on the phone is easy and the staff are friendly. Prices on the higher end for a takeaway but worth it for the quality and area. I can recommend the chicken curry, my wife the crispy duck rolls.
