We came for our lunch today with our doggy and it was so lovely!! The girls were great with him, constantly coming over for cuddles and chicken ☺️ food was gorgeous but the service for us was really the best. Seen someone else leave a review for here saying they didn’t like how dog orientated it was and that the girls coming to say hi to the doggies wasn’t very hygienic…. All I can say to that is how miserable!? The ladies who came to stroke Reggie, and give him water and chicken (literally hand fed!!) even said not to worry about it because they would of course wash their hands after. That review seemed pretty harsh to me, as I couldn’t thank them enough for being so good with him today. Lovely afternoon, can’t wait to come back ☺️

I've been coming here for many years and it's always busy which is good news for any pub. I think they realised if they expanded seating capacity that they could do even better so they've built an extension. They've done a very good job and merged it very sympathetically with the existing pub. I'd imagine booking a table will be a lot easier in the future. We tried out the new menus they now have and ordered the lasagne. As you can see from the photo it looked nice and tasted great. They still also have a good selection of real ales and other beers. Service was quick and efficient, couldn't fault it. Well worth a visit..

The CHIPS!!! The BEST CHIPS I have eaten all year!! Loved that everything on the menu including pies are homemade! The hunters chicken breast I had was super fresh, juicy, tender and tasty… proper good pub food !! I don’t know why every pub in Liverpool can’t get it right and do a menu like yours! Fresh, tasty, great quality and massive portions!

Good and bad news. Had I known it was dog friendly -to the extreme- I wouldn’t have gone! Dogs sitting in bench seats at tables where food was served up , dogs pestering their owners for scraps and waitresses bending down to pat and cuddle dogs then delivering food plates. The food was pretty good quality and tasty but a tiny bit expensive for pub grub -garlic bread, fish chips, apple crumble. I appreciate lots of people don’t mind the dog thing, in fact If you are a dog lover it is a pretty good place. So I recommend for dog lovers but won’t be going again.

Tbh every time I’ve been in there has been a big gang of us about 8 people and it has always been really nice and the service from every me ever of staff every time has been 100%. The food is also nice and homemade. Cannot fault it. Didn’t really want to review this place as I would like to keep it a little secret for the locals.

The Sunday roast dinner was lovely. A choice of roast joints of meat, nicely cooked vegetables, lashings of gravy and the best roast potatoes EVER! Plenty of friendly welcoming staff. Definitely recommend The Stanley.

Table not ready, no one seated at it, pub not overly busy. Seats and floor covered in food when we sat down. Food was nice. Hadn't finished main course when waitress was trying to take my plate. Told last orders (it was before 21:00) and came with bill as we were eating our dessert, and took place settings away. Not impressed with service at all. All 5 of us won't be going back. Advertised as closing at midnight.

I ate here with 3 friends yesterday ( Saturday lunchtime) Just wanted to say it was an excellent experience. The menu had so much choice and we all really enjoyed our food. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the service quick. The atmosphere was just what we needed to catch up. Really brilliant. Thank you
