“Simply excellent in all aspects of our dining experience. We stayed for two nights, eating in the 3 star restaurant on the first night and the 1 star restaurant on our second night. Both were exceptional. They are very clever chefs who ensure the dining experience is perfect. I would absolutely recommend Moor Hall to everyone, it's special.”

“A lovely unassuming fine dinning experience in a friendly, relaxed (read unstuffy) environment. Took my mother as a birthday treat for the 3 course Tasting Lunch on a Sat. Started with a Kir Champagne, followed by an amazing little appetizer, which only added to the experience. Fresh made bread like we've never tasted before. A nice glass of wine for us both. The menu is seasonal but we had starters of haddock and pork for me, followed by mains of cod loin and chicken (so succulent). Mum had an apple cheese cake and I, the cheese board, followed by a coffee. All were amazing and not too filling. Service was excellent from all staff from beginning to end. Highly recommended”

“Great place to stay if you are planning a visit to local tourist attractions - e.g., Rufford Hall - or fancy a weekend break in beautiful countryside. The hotel is a relatively new build whose exterior has been carefully designed to be in keeping with the local properties, but with a modern look and feel inside. I am not sure if there is a lift to reach the first floor where the rooms are located. We had to use stairs, and what this meant for people with limited mobility or accessibility needs did occur to me. The bedrooms are a good size, with a comfortable bed. The only downside we had with the room was the temperature. With the increasingly warm weather we have been having, and we stayed on a hot day, the absence of air con was noticeable. This is clearly a popular venue for locals as well as hotel guests which is always a good sign. The staff were wonderful, feels like it may be family run? Breakfast was amazing! Have the full English because the sausages and bacon (I suspect) were locally sourced and delicious! Thank you!”

“I recently visited this Turkish restaurant, and it was hands down the best I’ve been to. The lamb was incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. The ambiance was lovely, and I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!”

“We went on a Saturday night, it was extremely busy and the restaurant was quite noisy. We waited some time for our main courses but the food was faultless when it did arrive. My partner waited over 10 minutes for a second drink. We will be back but we will probably get takeaway or visit on a less busy evening next time.”

“Briars Hall Hotel hosted a very large celebration of life service for me a few weeks ago which was attended by hundreds of people. The whole experience was absolutely perfect from start to finish. So I want to say a massive thank you to all the management and staff at Briars who really took a lot of the stress away from me on an emotional day. The function rooms were beautifully presented, the food was excellent, the service was excellent. The planning and attention to detail to cater for the volume of people who attended was so professionally done. Throughout the whole process communication with Mark, Steve and other staff was superb. I've lost count of the amount of people who gave me amazing feedback on how good the celebration of life party was, though much of the credit should deservedly go to the management and staff at Briars Hall. It was a warm day and guests also made good use of the stunning outside areas of the hotel. I also had family from abroad staying overnight in the hotel who said their stay was excellent. Thanks again guys, I really can't thank you enough.”

“Absolutley loved the food here and will be going again without a doubt. Good quality, hot food. The only downside was the tables are very close together and so you can hear every word of every other conversation going on. Found myself raising my voice just so I could have a conversation.”

“Just returned from a 2 night stay here with my wife and daughter , family room was perfect for us as our daughter is 6 and loved it being us all together , room was very clean and they added a nice touch with a Easter hunt for a hidden chick to redeem a prize from reception . Started the stay off really well , we stayed in the annex building of the hotel . It was quiet and peaceful in the evening . The restaurant in with the hotel was a beefeater restaurant/pub , we opted for the meal deal . So our daughter got free breakfast , and we got our breakfast and 2 course evening meal and first drink included . Food was great . Freshly cooked , even the hot breakfast . I think it was £5.99 for 2 courses for our daughter to add onto our evening meal . The staff in both the restaurant and the hotel were a credit to the companies . So friendly , welcoming and great at engaging conversation with us . Location was great as we went to formby beach before checking in ( around 20 mins away ) and then to Southport the following day in Uber which only cost £10 each way ! Thank you so much for making our little Easter getaway a happy one”

“The food from A Taste of Indian is incredible, fresh and tasty. I went for the Chicken Passanda and was in heaven with every bite , accompanied with delicious naan bread . Highly recommended and I can't wait to eat another delicious meal.”

“I enjoyed a delicious Banquet with friends. However the service was mixed: one waiter was very good & cheerful one was the opposite. There was NO LIFT & no ground floor tables. 1 of my friends has serious mobility challenges & I am recovering from an operation; the lack of a lift is unbelievable!”

“Popped in to the pub today to try it as it’s under new management - really nice family, very welcoming and drinks were good. Kitchen opening soon so haven’t tried the food yet but we spoke to Alfi who will be managing the kitchen and is a really nice guy with great plans for food from next weekend. Also dog friendly - they made a big fuss of our dogs and they had the wood burning stove lit which created a lovely cozy place to stop on our walk. We will definitely be back to try the food and some more drinks. We hope the wider community supports them as well as this used to be a great pub on the canal to stop at and they really want to return it to that - we wish them success and happiness at The Slipway.”

“Been going here for years, and its never disappointed, by far the best chips in Ormskirk by a country mile, portion sizes are huge giving excellent value for money. Only tips are if you have a large order its best to call ahead as everything is cooked to order so there can be a wait otherwise. Only criticism is that they can take long long holiday and close the business while there away.”

“We came here with our Grandma for a Sunday roast and it was amazing! It was really busy but the service was quite quick, very scenic view too. Can’t recommend the roast more it was delicious!! One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had!”

“Bit pricey, but for the buffet it's worth it. Staff are lovely, you can now order from a qr code on the table. I really appreciated this as I had a short time to eat, so I was able to get to the salad bar and buffet quicker”

“The best burger spot in town. Food is always piping hot and fresh. Side note if you are looking through the reviews there is a false one from last year of a raw burger. That burger is from McDonald's and if you just search raw McDonald's burger it comes up on Google images from a news site. Please don't be put off by the fake review.”

“We had an incredible dining experience at The Fat Italian in Burscough! From start to finish, every dish was a delight. The starters were impressive - the garlic bread, goat cheese and pine nut bruschetta, and pane olio were all delicious and perfectly prepared. For mains, the prawn pasta was good, and the salmon and asparagus was a standout - the white sauce was absolutely amazing! But the real showstopper was the dessert! We were blown away by the Daim butterscotch sundae, it was truly unbelievable!”

“Went on a Sunday and it was very busy, good job we had booked a table for 5. We had black pudding, nachos and pork belly, followed by 4 roasts and 1 pie. 3 of us had to force ( we were already full) on of the best crème brûlée ever. We will be back”
