Honestly could not have been made to feel more welcome, what a lovely well run pub. The new owners are super friendly and considerate. We had a really good Sunday lunch, fresh & tasty home cooked food with great service. Nice pint. The fire in the wood stove was well stoked on a chilly day. And our dog got spoiled too. We were also welcome to stay overnight in our motorhome, just remember to add your registration at the bar for free parking. Couldn't ask for more, thank you so much.

New owners took over 3 days ago - we went today, not realising that on Mondays the pub is shut through the winter. Paid for the car parking and went to leave. Rang the pub to see if by chance they were open and just shut up the front (or opening later) to refund the car parking. The new owner went above and beyond for us, we said we’d come just for the Caffreys, she said even though they are closed, due to the mider we had with the parking to absolutely pop in for a pint. Lovely genuine new owners and we were made up. She was so nice, couldn’t refund the parking but not an issue due to her kind and genuine hospitality. For anyone visiting - enter your reg in the pub and the parking is free. Looking forward to trying food here and I think this pub will be very successful with the attitude of the new owners. Pint of Caffreys was beautiful and chilled to perfection, reasonably priced too. We will be back. All the best for the new owners, thank you

Popped in to the pub today to try it as it’s under new management - really nice family, very welcoming and drinks were good. Kitchen opening soon so haven’t tried the food yet but we spoke to Alfi who will be managing the kitchen and is a really nice guy with great plans for food from next weekend. Also dog friendly - they made a big fuss of our dogs and they had the wood burning stove lit which created a lovely cozy place to stop on our walk. We will definitely be back to try the food and some more drinks. We hope the wider community supports them as well as this used to be a great pub on the canal to stop at and they really want to return it to that - we wish them success and happiness at The Slipway.

Stopped here with my campervan for a night. Free as long as you use the pub - so I had a couple of beers, a meal and a great night. Very friendly and welcoming staff for someone passing through. Boating community in pub and at the moorings were also very friendly. I'll definitely be back.

Lovely friendly proper local traditional community pub. Good food and all priced competitively. Has couple of TV screens showing sport, but you can sit away from these if not interested. As long as you are having food and drinks they are happy for motorhomes to stay overnight - assuming space. Parking is next to the waterway and free by entering your reg at the bar. Thank you for food, drink, free stopover and plenty of dogs to say hello to.

Just been for a roast dinner, absolutely lovely food with generous portions you won't be walking away hungry! We will definitely be back in the future when walking along the canal.
