An Absolute Gem – A Must-Visit in Liverpool! I visited Mahoe Blue Jamaican Restaurant last week and was honestly blown away. From the moment we walked in, the vibes were immaculate — warm, welcoming, and full of energy. A classy restaurant with a family like aura! The food and drinks were absolutely amazing — full of authentic flavour and clearly made with love. When we arrived (just two hours after opening), we were surprised to see that a lot of items were already sold out — but after trying what was available, it made perfect sense. The quality was unmatched, and everything we had was so delicious. The drinks were also spot on and paired perfectly with the food. It’s rare to find a place that delivers such a genuine taste of the Caribbean in the UK, and Mahoe Blue nails it. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip to Liverpool, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting or living in the city. Go early if you want the full menu — trust me, it’s worth it!

10/10. Easily the tastiest, most authentic feeling Jamaican food I’ve tasted. The oxtail and curry goat were soft and juicy, plantain was ripe, sweet and cooked to perfection. The lady in charge took the time to explain the menu and answer any questions about flavours, especially the tamarind bites. She had such a nice, friendly woman with a kind, warm aura about her. Festivals - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If you don’t break one up, slide it in the gravy and eat it with the plantain and meat on top, you’re missing out. The rum punch was top tier, I didn’t want it to end. Had a terrible day at work and honestly felt so much better after eating here. Will 100% be returning.

Wanted to go here for ages so finally jumped in one Saturday in May when my parents were visiting the city (it's taken me a long time to do this review, but better late than never!). With no booking they were able to seat us quickly and with the warmest welcome. The restaurant is very small and has a lovely atmosphere, very laid back and comfortable. Everything we ordered was delicious and interesting, from the pineapple and fruit punches we started with (surprisingly spicy!) to the starter platter (the mutton is lovely, but quite hot!). For main course we had a selection of jerk chicken strips, rice and peas, festivals and a roti, on the owner's recommendation my dad had the standard jerk whereas my mum and I had a "softened" jerk/BBQ mix, which was the perfect level of spice for us! The tamarind sauce was also delicious on the side of everything! If you haven't had festivals before then I definitely recommend trying them as they were the perfect addition to dip in the sauces, with their slight sweetness off-setting the spice! We couldn't get near finishing everything, but they were more than happy to give us boxes to take away all the leftovers (which did me another delicious meal the next day!). Basically, I cannot rate this place highly enough! Everything we ordered was perfect, the staff were incredibly friendly (mother and daughter, I think) and the atmosphere was fun and friendly, with great music in the background. I can't wait to go back again!

Had a lovely evening here at our first visit. It certainly won't be our last! Loved the food, jerk chicken, rice and peas, festival and jerk gravy, also scotchie sauce. The cocktail I had, rum punch, was the best I've tasted anywhere and the guinness punch my husband had was great too. The music was perfect and the service excellent. Cannot recommend highly enough and cannot wait to return. This couple deserve to succeed, they are passionate about this restaurant and it shows

Loved the food. Callaloo was particularly impressive. So was the rice and peas. Loved the Guinness punch. The decor was sophisticated, atmosphere welcoming, service very good. Definitely recommend. We were a group of 5 and had a great time. Even ordered a take out to have tomorrow

Lovely Jamaican food served by a friendly waitress, cooked by the owner who spoke to us at the end of the meal and was genuinely interested in our experience. The cocktails were also lovely - and strong. Proper cocktails as the owner told us. Portions were reasonably sized - seemed small in the first instance - but with we were all full after our starter, mains and sides. Would recommend highly and a great addition to the Liverpool food scene.

Had an absolutely delicious meal tonight - curried goat, rice and peas and a very fresh roti, served up beautifully. The chef came out and checked the meal was ok too so top service. The cocktails were also amazing. It was very reasonably priced. Will definitely be making this a regular place to eat out!

Lovely friendly staff and delicious food. Best curried goat I have tasted. We thought the prices were very reasonable. Really hope this place takes off because we want to keep coming back.
