I visited Sodaeng in Putney, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable Korean dining experiences Iβve had in London. From the moment I walked in, the warm atmosphere and attentive staff set the tone for an excellent meal. The service was genuinely impressive, friendly, efficient, and always ready to explain dishes or offer suggestions without being intrusive. What stood out the most was the incredible quality of the ingredients, especially the mushrooms and meat. The assorted mushroom platter was astonishingly flavorful; each variety had its own distinct aroma and texture, and when grilled, they released a deep, earthy richness that paired perfectly with the house dips. Itβs rare for mushrooms to shine as much as the meat at a BBQ spot, but Sodaeng really knows how to elevate them. The meat selection was equally remarkable. Every cut was tender, juicy, and clearly high-grade. The marinades were balanced, not overly sweet, and allowed the natural flavor of the meat to remain the star. Grilling it right at the table made the whole experience interactive and enjoyable. The hotpot was another highlight. The broth was rich, comforting, and full of depth, absorbing the flavors of the vegetables, mushrooms, and thinly sliced beef beautifully. It complemented the BBQ perfectly, adding variety to the meal. Overall, Sodaeng Putney delivers a truly delightful and authentic Korean BBQ experience, with exceptional flavors, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone craving quality Korean food.

I'm excited to have found a fantastic Korean restaurant in London. Although it's a bit of a trip from my home, I tend to go back often. The chef and staff are outstanding! It can be busy, so making reservations is a good idea. The flavours are very similar to those I enjoyed in Korea. I particularly suggest trying the meat noodles, spicy pig's feet, and garlic honey chicken.

First time trying tangsuyuk. It has a very sweet taste. If you like cantonese sweet and sour, this might not be the best choice. They taste completely different. The batter of fried pork was a bit hard instead of crispy. Gamja tang was the best dish of our visit. Not all korean restaurant would serve banchan here. The stir fried beef and squid was just normal. The potato banchan was the best with good texture, nice flavour and not too salty. The bean sprout was too salty though. If someone ordered korean bbq, you would unavoidably smells like bbq after having meals in the restaurant. The staff are nice and friendly.

Have been here many times, can say the food is on the bland side across all their dishes, some are quite tasteless. Dishes are quite small so you need to order more if you are not a small eater. This makes the dishes not good value for money. There is a good range of dishes though, from pancake to soups, bbq and meals on a plate. There is also some interesting art work and decorations. You're probably wondering why I have been here so many times if I don't really like the food, well, it's not nasty, it's just not tasty, and the wife is hooked on Korean shows on Netflix and jjajangmyeong, and there aren't many Korea restaurants around here, let alone ones that serve jjajangmyeong ;-)

I am a Korean who lived in New York, LA, Paris, Seoul and now in London. Honestly I walked in this restaurant by an accident, but hands down one of the best and most authentic Korean restaurants Iβve ever been. Highly recommend JJamBBong. Or any Pork stock based stews/soups.

Not the best fried chicken that I have tried. The best in Boston, USA from the BB.Q franchise. But the rest of the menu is incredible good. Highly recommended. Family business, fast service and good attention.

Loved it. The Korean BBQ is brilliant and well priced. We took our own wine as the corkage was only Β£2 but I had a Korean beer which was very tasty. Service was impeccable, very polite and lots of questions and able to help with our questions. Great experience having dinner cooked within inches of you and a cooker plate per table!
