We had our wedding here last week and it was everything we could've hoped for and more. Not only did we love the venue for its stunning architecture and great atmosphere, but Andrew, Bailey, and the team provided an exceptional service throughout the day and in the lead-up. The food was also delicious. Thank you, Le Gothique!

Le Gothique is part of the Royal Victoria Patriotic Building. I’d love to share my experience photographing a wedding at Le Gothique in South London, a beautiful and unique venue full of character and history. It’s set within the Royal Victoria Patriotic Building, one of London’s hidden treasures, and has an atmosphere that feels both historical and enchanting. The courtyard is one of my favourite spaces, a lovely setting for outdoor ceremonies, surrounded by charming architecture and a sense of mystery. Martin and Sean’s autumn celebration, led by Triona, a lovely celebrant, was deeply meaningful and warm. What makes Le Gothique truly special is its personality, that wonderful blend of gothic charm, history, and mysterious spirit. It’s an inspiring choice for couples looking for something unique and quirky. (Just to note, I experienced this venue as a wedding photographer rather than as a restaurant guest.)

Tasty and hearty meals! We went for a table of 2. The steak and frites were nice, and the tarte tartin delicious. Only downside is not enough people know about it, so it’s pretty empty/ without atmosphere. I would go again though!

Andrew and his team were amazing on our wedding day. Very attentive and made our day extra special. The food was delicious with many guests saying it’s the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. The venue itself is very a unique and beautiful place to get married. Thank you Andrew and team!

A hidden gem indeed. Housed in the iconic Royal Victoria Patriotic Building you would never find it! Lovely gastropub, with an unmistakingly French bistro look, the paintings a step back in time. It is almost like being transported to another era. The wall uplighters and candle lights compliment perfectly the thick dark stain wooden tables with a beautiful patina and red velvet/dark brown leather chairs. Very atmospheric and contrasts beautifully with the terrace outside in the courtyard I loved it. Starter of gambas flambee, main confit de canard and fondant au chocolat as dessert. The food is ok, well cooked, the prawns in particular were very tasty, and there's a limited but adequate seleccion of wine, all reasonably priced. The staff are great and the service excellent. Andrew was superb, indeed a gem within the hidden gem. If you are looking for a fine gastronomic experience in a modern Michelin star restaurant, then it's certainly not the place. But if you are looking for a different type of experience, to soak up the feel of an iconic Victorian building and enjoy a romantic meal al fresco then I would certainly recommended. It is different and I personally loved it.

Le Gothique, and the experience it provided to us on our wedding day can be summed up in one word... it was "magical". When we were looking for a venue for our wedding reception we wanted something a bit different from the norm, once we set eyes on the building that houses Le Gothique and its gothic style decor we were instantly sold, no other venue we looked at even came close, and being a stones throw from were we live was an added bonus. We didn't even know the building (the Royal Victoria Patriotic building) that housed Le Gothique even existed until we stumbled on it whilst doing our online searches. Booking Le Gothique for our chosen date also allowed us to choose from either having our wedding reception within the internal restaurant area, or, the outside courtyard double-marque covered area... obviously we chose the courtyard (with one eye on the weather reports as our wedding date approached). Luckily we had a day with good weather when our day arrived. Once we started dealing with Andrew he was always courteous and answered all our questions and queries on the numerous occasions we interacted with him. On the evening that we came for the "tastings" it was difficult to choose between the dishes as they were all tasty, but, we did eventually settle on the duck pate, lamb and raspberry mascarpone as the main three courses. We were more than pleased that alongside our chosen three course meal for our guests that Le Gothique were happy to accommodate the Greek starters (we supplied), it's safe to say everyone ate well on the day and probably ran out of space to even have some of our tasty wedding cake! Andrew and all the staff at Le Gothique made sure our day went without a hitch and ran as smoothly as possible and we can't thank them enough for that and they appeared to work seamlessly well with our flower and wedding cake arrangers. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Le Gothique, especially for anyone else looking for a place that has a special feel to it to have a memorable wedding reception. Andy & Rowena

We had an enjoyable dinner at Le Gothique. We were sat outdoors but the courtyard was well heated. For starters we had the kings prawns and goats cheese salad. We definitely preferred the goats cheese salad of the two items. For mains, we had the burger and sea bass which were both very enjoyable. The dessert was a bit of a let down with the lady fingers in the tiramisu not being soaked at all (so they were hard). The lava cake tasted supermarket bought and microwaved. Service was quick and polite. If it wasn’t for the dessert this would have definitely deserved a 5 star rating.

Staying nearby and thought we'd try it. Had 3 course meals. Well presented and served, good vibe to the place. Had a drink in the bar afterwards. Very nice. Good beer SamBrookes Wandle. The guy who served us was very efficient/pleasant/attentive.
