A brilliant dining experience from start to finish. Warm, friendly service from the lovely front of house staff. Really tasty, unpretentious food that's packed full of flavour. Superb organic and biodynamic wines that match fantastically well with the food. Unbelievably well priced too. Simply faultless.

They have got something seriously right here. Food is sharing-plate style Ottolenghi experience but very well-judged and extremely enjoyable. Each dish was genuinely good and some surprisingly so. The wine list has some real gems that I had never heard of or tried before. One wine was good enough that I've tracked it down to buy more. Service is warm and efficient and make sure you listen to the recommendations. I can't work out why it's not jam-packed every night but if you can go!

Really good food. For starters I had the scallops which were really good, albeit they should have served 3 to a portion. I had the Haddock and Samphire, for my mains, which was well cooked, and my date had the Pork Belly & Hispi Cabbage. Can't complain, service could be a little more attentive, but the all in all, good for what it is.

Went there on a Thursday night with friends and family (6 of us in total) in December as we wanted to try something different to the bog standard curry houses on Brick Lane. Was very pleasantly suprised by the look of the restaurant - Initially I wasn't quite sure if I'd found the right place! First impressions were that of a 70's train or bus terminus thanks to the curved seating area & burnt orange bar. The staff seemed friendly, laid back and very knowledgable about the food. We decided to order a bit of everything as it was mainly tapas style on the menu - good suggestion for those that what to try something different but not keen on being stuck with a meal they don't like. The anchovies were a hit with our table (although I don't eat them), so I'd suggest ordering those. We didn't get around to deserts but our waiter suggested a lovely desert wine which we wouldn't normally drink, but it was great! (Can't remember the name, sorry!) The prices are very reasonable and we left feeling sated but not over full. Because it had only recently opened it wasn't rammed, but I can't see it staying that way for long.... Well done, guys! We'll be back!

Every restaurant has it's birthing pains, especially on the first evening. This one had none. Very enjoyable food, clean modern Mediterranean, hints of central Europe and middle east. Oh, and generous portions. Although food is tasty, the whole experience is carried by an inspired wine list (of great value by London standards). We tried almost every wine on offer per glass and not one disappointed. Staff is relaxed and attentive and Hugo is a pleasant maitre d'hotel. All in all, with distinct al-fresco vibe due to the glass wall, tasty and current food and absolutely great wine list, this should become an all-day east London institution it is aspiring to be.
