   FIRST CLASS, AUTHENTIC TRATTORIA. The staff are warm, entertaining and genuine who all laugh along with each other. They were the most wonderful hosts. To boot, the food was excellent - probably the best tonnarelli cacio e pepe I’ve found outside of Italy. The wine was brought to the table and topped up liberally: what else can I say? The atmosphere was super and their Vecchia Romagna (served warm) was a real treat served properly. Highly recommended and cannot praise them enough. Cash only.

   Small restaurant but good vibe likes local style. Authentic Italian homemade , delicious but a bit annoyed about cash only or direct transfer to bank account cos we travelled as cashless and also no wifi in the restaurant and bad signal internet in york city centre so we cannot transfer as well while we need to pay for 10% service charge . I knew its not a big deal for 10% to pay but it would be great if you have wifi for customer as well.

   A pre wedding meal here with our daughter and son in law to be at the time. We had been to there other restaurant in the forest a year or 2 previous and that was great so staying in York this was a good bet. Great meal and so friendly staff.

   Very tasty food for a reasonable price. We especially liked shrimps, tasted very much liked from Sardinian and mushroom risotto. Calamari in seafood salad were very good too. Wine was ok Be aware that you need to bring cash as they don’t accept card payment

   Booked a table for 2 to sit outside in the summer weather - a very busy restaurant which is always a good sign, however the staff handled the amount of customers amazingly, with efficient but attentive service. Came here on a birthday weekend in York, had the lunchtime pizza deal and enjoyed our meal very much. The pizza was one of the best we’ve ever had, even as good as ones we’ve had in Italy. 10/10 would recommend. One thing to note is it’s cash only.

   Great food, good service in a fun lively setting. Just remember it is cash only or I think they take PayPal at a push. Good wine list and specials plus the usual pizza select, love the way they say no sweet corn pineapple or chicken allowed on the pizzas!

   I love this place. It's really small and the food is authentic Italian. The pizza is great (They have one with egg on) and they do really interesting specials sometimes too. I had a pumpkin pasta dish once and it was the best pasta I've ever had. Nice relaxing vibe too.
