Had a lovely new years eve dinner here, great pizza, good size, nice ingredients, cosy atmosphere, slightly away from the super hectic areas and in a lovely part of York right by one of the historic gates. Staff were a particular highlight, all very welcoming and friendly, owners were passionate about the food and helpful and could really feel the family-run atmosphere. Highly recommended for solid Italian food in a cosy environment.

Absolutely amazing little restaurant. The best carbonara I’ve eaten since Rome!! The food was authentic and so delicious. the staff made it such a special night. So relaxing and beautiful background music I would definitely recommend this little gem. We will be back in the New Year!

I visited York with my parents to run the York marathon and, the night before, we fancied an Italian (partially for my carb-loading!). We saw that Villaggio had a lot of positive reviews so it seemed like an obvious choice. It was amazing! The restaurant itself is beautiful and cosy with nice, authentic décor. The staff were lovely - super friendly and passionate. The food was brilliant. We had breads and pâtés for starters and seafood pasta, seafood pizza and lasagne for mains. All were delicious. For drinks we had beers and wines. There was a big range to choose from and there were a lot of draught options. I highly recommend Villaggio and am looking forward to visiting again when I'm next in York :)

This place I can give it 10/10 stars I would! The food was amazing, the pasta and lasagna were on the “specials” recommendation, and it truly outstanding. The service was really good, the atmosphere great for a date night. Towards the end, our waitress made a delicious hot chocolate for me, we stayed until the place closed. I wish I had taken more photos!

Visited York for the first time, and without doubt, this was our favourite (of a fair few!) bars and pubs we tried. Right on the corner at Micklegate. The very lovely owners’ passion for this cafe/bar/tap-room/pizzeria is clear to see…incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and constantly smiling & singing! Just lovely to see! Wasn’t too crowded when we visited and the vibe was just perfect after a strenuous day walking the streets of the fabulous city. Perfect stop off for us after dinner, though the waft of fresh made pizza was tempting. Could quite easily spend hours in this place & will definitely return. I urge you to spend some time here! The drink here is tap 20…fabulous!

A quaint and cosy Italian pizzeria/restaurant just outside the city walls. The pizzas were scrumptious and the service was excellent. I love an authentic eatery that offers both character and good food, and this place met my expectations. Highly recommend!
