We had our first visit last night since the change of ownership for a pre xmas meal and to be brutally honest it was one of the worst dining experiences for a long time. Cons Starters - The vegetable soup looked like stock water filled with a few under cooked vegetables, the pork belly in 2 other starters were also undercooked. In what otherwise was a tasty if tiny portion. Mains - Both steaks came under cooked and the turkey dinner had brussels that were like bullets and gravy that resembled and tasted more like oxo than actual gravy. Desert - Only one of our party had desert (chocolate brownie) which came half cold & half warm, again disappointing. As was the atmosphere, I doubt I've been in a pub/restaurant so quiet for a tea time in December. At one point we were the only four diners in there and when we left there were only two diners remaining. Pros The waitress was attentive, the chicken tenders were very nice as was the chicken pie, mash and ice cream. Summery At £24 for two courses this wasn't a cheap tea and imo doesn't represent good value for money, so perhaps the absence of diners says it all. I know we won't be returning to dine again 4/10

Happend to be passing and arrived just before opening time on Sunday. Had a large and very good lunch. Service was friendly and very good. Good choice of beers. We will stop over in our motorhome somtime so that I can enjoy few. We were in early so got a table but I'd recommend booking as it was filling up by the time we left. Under new management and they seem to have got off to an excellent start.

Welcome change away from typical mass produced pub food ! Excellent home made meals good service. Very friendly and accomodating as I ordered something not normally on the Sunday menu. The home made chicken strips were really tender and the pea aranchini fantastic ! Home made crumble also delicious. Really pleased to see the changes for the better and will visit again soon.

Lovely little pub. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a meal off the small bites menu, which was tasty and good value. Very dog friendly with water bowls, treats and dog bed cushions. My little dog was very happy snuggled up by us. She even enjoyed a chicken breast off the dog menu.

Really friendly and efficient service from Sam tonight. Really excellent food with portions being good but also tasty. The ravioli starter was excellent as was the salt and pepper squid. Mains were excellent, home made salmon fish cake were excellent with the mushroom sauce. Fish and chips was also tasty not greasy and well sized. Pricing was also decent. First time, definitely recommend and will come again.

Lovely traditional pub. Friendly and helpful staff. The lasagne was delicious with 'proper ' chips. Very dog friendly she was even given a sausage. Prices were very reasonable good value for money.

Fantastic. A lovely pub with great staff and a fantastic manager in Stevie. The food was delicious, too. We stayed over in our camper van in their large car park and had a very peaceful night. I am sure we will back very soon.

We were a party of 5 (plus a baby) celebrating a birthday. Lady who looked after us was exceptional. Very attentive and just lovely. Food was delicious. One of our party wasn't happy with his meal and the lady was so helpful in changing it for him. She brought out a birthday cake we'd supplied and she came out singing Happy Birthday. So lovely. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Nice variety of meals on the menu. Really great pub and staff.
