The food is absolutely delicious β the Kabuli pilau with lamb shank literally melts in your mouth. The staff are incredibly friendly and kind, and the food isnβt even overpriced. The seating is lovely and comfortable, with both table and floor seating available. I honestly couldnβt fault this restaurant. Itβs definitely underrated; everything we tried was perfectly cooked and full of wonderful flavours.

Just had lunch and wow β the food was so good! The mix grill was perfectly cooked, super juicy, and full of flavor. You could tell it was fresh off the grill with that perfect smoky taste. The Charsi Chicken Karahi was another standout β spicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The chicken was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the sauce was so delicious that we couldnβt resist dipping the naan into every last bit. The service was warm and welcoming. Iβll definitely be coming backβ highly recommended!

A True Taste of Afghanistan at Chapandaz Restaurant! If youβre looking for an authentic Afghan dining experience, look no further than Chapandaz in East Ham! From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making me feel right at home. I had the Mumtaz Meal, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of spectacular. The rice was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of fluffiness and flavor. The chicken was tender and seasoned beautifully, while the lamb skewers were perfectly charred and juicy. Every bite was packed with deliciousness β the combination of the savory meat, fragrant rice, and fresh, crisp salad was simply unbeatable. Honestly, Iβve never had a more satisfying meal. The flavors were rich, aromatic, and so well-balanced that each dish complemented the others perfectly. If youβre a fan of authentic Afghan cuisine, Chapandaz will leave you wanting more. The service was also friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall incredible experience. Highly recommend this gem if youβre in the area β itβs hands down one of the best meals Iβve had!

Nice ambience. Place a bit tacky but one could understand restaurants in East London are in shop spaces. Long opening hours are extremely likeable. Food is great, especially kebabs both chicken and lamb. Karhais are their speciality. Overall great tasting food served hot.

Great local restaurant. The place had a nice ambience and polite staff. We ordered the mixed platter for 2-3 (+ a separate plate of grill meat with rice), lamb curry, pizza, chips and for dessert the hand churned ice cream. The grilled meat was simple, but flavourful, all the meats were moist and utterly enjoyed it. Plenty of rice was given, with some bread and roast potatoes, both equally as good. The curry itself was decent tasting, but for Β£12β¦ the portion was on the smaller side. Handmade ice cream was not bad and the portion is good enough to share for two. Weβd be happy to come back! Altogether, we spent a little over Β£100, due to the price we scored it 4/5 as other places offer a little bit more for the price (such as cold starters and more meat in the platter).

I always come here for lunch with friends whether we call ahead or just turn up the staff are always very good. Food is fresh and tasty service is great and there is a lovely sitting area at the back great for groups of upto 10-12 people. It's also heated and very nicely decorated. Small restaurant but very nice.

Had the pilaw and Afghan kebab. Full of flavour. The pilaw comes with lamb shank, cooked perfectly. Disappointed on the amount of lamb.

Went to this place with friends after a long time wanting to try it out. From the outside it's looks nice, when you go inside the decor is really dated and shabby if you ask me. The chairs and tables are really basic, the table cover looks like from a village in the sub continent, some may say it's Authentic, it's not, it's just cheap. The owners really need to up their game with decor. It's doesn't cost huge amount to do up the place a little. That's probably the most negative part of our visit. The rest gets better I promise. The waiting staff was really friendly, and attentive. The food was surprisingly decent. We ordered a variety of food to share between the group. Chapli Kebab was better then expected, Lamb Chops looked dry but don't let that decieve you, it was very juicy. Kabuli Biriyani was equally decent, Lamb curry had a really nice and unique teste to it, chicken wings was juicy and succelent. The drinks selection was extremely limited or 3 or 4 variety of canned popular drinks. Really should improve on the drinks choice. The restaurant has a lot of potential to become one of the best in the area, it's very spacious, and a lot of room to be creative. Food is decent, if only decor matched the same standard. As it is I would recommend the food, but go there with friends, wouldn't recommend going there with families, as the standard of decor and atmosphere falls short unfortunately. .

Prices are great. Meat was cooked to perfection. Amazing portions!!!! Whilst there are negatives the quality and taste far out rank them! When asking for tap water make sure you mention βjug waterβ as there was a little confusion when we initially asked for tap water. For our liking the qabali pilau had far too much raisins as from other similar restaurants when we order it has a little less. We waited over 30 mins for the first set of dishes to arrive which ended up being the lamb karahi and bread, then the aubergine, the qabali pillau over 10 mins later and then the chicken wings another maybe 15 mins later despite it being a starter!

Went with family and received a welcoming, friendly service. We sat cosily and enjoyed delicious, traditional food. The kids liked their pizza which was also cooked well and a generous size.
