From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home—their hospitality was truly outstanding and created a welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent, with every dish full of flavor and beautifully presented. The menu has a variety of options, and each item we ordered exceeded our expectations. “First time visit for me, the family had been before and I must say the flavoursome food was not a disappointment, it was superb. We didn't order individually but ordered for the table ,so we all tried something and this worked well for us. The service was attentive but not intrusive and the only reason I didn't give it full stars for atmosphere was because we chose a time to suit some of the family. I'm told at other times the other times there's a great warm atmosphere. The open view tandoori oven/kitchen adds an element of drama. Well worth a visit.”

    Open

“Visited Dishoom for the first time on a solo trip to London a few weeks ago - firstly I want to say thank you to the staff who were all so lovely. Greg who looked after me and was very helpful with describing the menu, the man who seated me and remembered my name to say bye to as I left and the lady who insisted I takeaway a cup of Chai to take advantage of the bottomlessness! My visit was too rushed (which was my own fault for accepting an earlier table they needed back by a certain time) so I look forward to a more leisurely visit when I next go to one closer to me haha but I will definitely return as the food was as good as everyone tells you and there's so many other things I'd like to try. They have a good alcohol-free selection too. It's a very busy place but it's understandable why it's so popular and you should definitely book a table if you go. Thanks guys! :)”

“Visited for the first time whilst visiting the area for the Hampton Court flower show. Very clean restaurant with a relaxing vibe. Helpful and friendly waiter who also held the door open for us when we left. Fresh, tasty and flavoursome food- perfect sized portions. I couldn’t decide between a 4 star or 5 star review, it would actually be a 4.5 star review if that was possible. As the fried rice with chicken was the best I’ve ever had I finally decided on a 5 star review. Worth a visit if you are in the area.”

    Kashmir Restaurant

    ★★★★☆ 4.7
    Open

“Great atmosphere, passionately prepared and presented authentic Kashmiri food. The restaurant has been tastefully designed and decorated to create intimate spaces for each table, a master stroke in restaurant designs. You arrive to be greeted by a busy well stocked bar/reception in a room filled with flowers, plants and foliage and you’re greeted by the cool as a cucumber owner Rohit. The seats are comfortable and the service is perfect. It’s a place where you are not rushed through your dinner and in fact you really don’t mind spending as long as you can in that delightful setting. Kashmir has been mired with political strife in recent history but we all know about Kashmir’s unmatched beauty. This little london restaurant reminisces in all the past and present glory that Kashmir beholds. It makes you curious, and want to visit the Kashmir mountains!”

    Babuji (Indian Street Food)

    ★★★★☆ 4.7
    Open

“Babuji, or father in English, is a lovely restaurant situated on the high street of Kentish Town and serves up an array of Indian dishes, enveloped with what feels like homely love as their intent would be. This place encourages customers to eat with their hands, following cultural customs and even going as far as providing instructions with how to do so - but only if you wish to. I love restaurants that incorporate their backstory and they did exactly that with their creative and somewhat witty menu. I went for the bangla bhuna with garlic & coriander naan, masala dossa and mango lassi. Naan could be stronger in garlic taste, but delivered a slight crispy crunch and it was mostly soft. The curry was delicious, well flavoured and seasoned, as well as delivering a bearable kick. Dossa was lovely and crisp. The gunpowder paste was what escalated the spice levels as I progressed through the meal. Mango lassi delivered a good balance of the yoghurt and mango taste with the mango tasting authentic. Very smooth and creamy. A drink that I always default in ordering whenever I’m eating at a south Asian restaurant. It wasn’t busy when I went on a Tuesday afternoon. Food does take a while to arrive, so that should be noted. But the food didn’t disappoint. The guy who was on the floor was lovely and welcoming and seemed passionate about sharing the love of India, which was well articulated within the place with the display of terms on the wall. A local spot that I’d come back to again one day.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding Experience! We had the most wonderful dining experience at Jaipur of Chigwell! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. The ambiance is elegant yet cosy, creating the perfect setting for an unforgettable meal. The food was simply exceptional – every dish was bursting with authentic flavours, perfectly balanced spices, and beautifully presented. The curry was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the butter chicken was rich and creamy, and the garlic naan was hands-down the best we’ve ever had. Portions were generous without compromising on quality. What truly sets Jaipur apart is the incredible service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect evening, offering thoughtful recommendations and checking in just the right amount without being intrusive. Their passion for great food and hospitality really shines through. We left feeling completely satisfied and already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality Indian cuisine with a touch of luxury, Jaipur of Chigwell is an absolute must! Highly recommended – a 10/10 experience.”

“My wife had been before, so she already knew what to expect, but for me it was something completely new. We were slightly pressed for time as we had a train to catch back up north, so I was a little worried about queues and delays. Sure enough, when we arrived there was already a queue forming outside, and the weather looked like it was about to turn. Thankfully, the team at Dishoom were quick to act – we were seated outside almost immediately, and service began straight away. That efficiency made a big difference, as it meant we could relax and enjoy the meal without clock-watching. The setting itself was welcoming, even outdoors. Despite the looming rain, the atmosphere carried the lively, bustling energy that jaipur is known for. There’s a sense that you’re part of something bigger than just a restaurant – more like a communal dining experience where everyone is there for the same reason: good food and a warm vibe. By the time we were leaving, the rain had just started to fall, which made the timing feel almost perfect. As for the food, it really was excellent. Everything we ordered arrived quickly and was cooked to perfection. jaipur has a reputation for bold, flavourful Indian dishes that balance authenticity with modern touches, and that was exactly what we experienced. From the seasoning to the presentation, nothing felt rushed despite our limited time. It’s rare to feel both unhurried and well-looked after in such a busy spot, but the staff managed it brilliantly. Overall, taste of jaipur was a fantastic first-time experience for me. Efficient service, delicious food, and great timing meant we left full, happy, and on schedule for our train.”
