   Update January 2024: Favorite vegan place. Yes, sometimes the service is slow, yes sometimes they get things mixed up, but the food is so good and prices are still reasonable. The food is delicious and I often have takeaway from the Leeds branch. However I thought the portions when eating in seemed a bit smaller than the takeaway offering (unless it’s just variation between branches). The service was a bit slow even though we visited on a Sunday afternoon which wasn’t too busy - we waited almost 30 min for our drinks and after finishing our meal, over 15 min for the bill. The garden itself is gorgeous and I’d definitely be visiting again when in York.

   Wow what a perfect spot! The food from here is amazing! Even though I'm not a vegan, and this really does beat 90% of other traditional burger and chicken spots. The food is so fresh and delicious and am told is full of protein! The staff are amazing and the atmosphere is perfect for date nights. Can't recommend this place enough!

   The food was very nice, good flavours and very generous portions. But 2/3 dishes arrived cold. The staff were friendly, but not very attentive, took half an hour to have our order taken, 20min wait for two beers, and an hour for food that was cold. overall we spent 2hours there and there were only 2 of us.

   We came here just on a whim after walking past it and absolutely loved it! The decor was so cute and such a nice set up with large tables and really gorgeous scenery. We came when it was sunny but the heaters above the table would mean you could come even if the weather wasn’t amazing. We were over the moon with how much choice there was and we were both super happy with the food- it was delicious and would definitely be coming back!

   Such a great little gem! First time in York and first time eating here, so refreshing to find an all vegan menu! We came late but still felt very welcome and accommodated! Would highly recommend!

   We went here for lunch on a weekend and it was great. We booked ahead and although it was a windy and rainy day the outside seating was well sheltered and well heated with hanging overhead heaters, to the point we could take our coats off. The food was absolutely fantastic, we could not recommend it more! The portions were huge and very filling, great value for money. We will definitely go again!

   If you're within York visiting or have lived there for years, I would highly recommend checking out Döner Summer. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the friendly staff. The inside of the restaurant looked calm and welcoming. We decided to take our food to go, and was asked to wait within the comfy seating area, frequently updated with how long our food was going to be. Upon tasting the food, I was met with a rich assortment of flavours which made me crave for more once I had finished. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is for the pricing in relation to portion size, had to have something else to eat after due to me being a bug eater. However overall I would highly recommend you check this place out.

   Just behind the minster and the City Wall Walk and well worth seeking out. Gorgeous Berlin style kebabs, everything vegan. I'm not used to so much choice, it was genuinely a bit overwhelming. Nice staff, great food, nice location. Unusual "outside but make it feel like inside" set-up, it felt strange to sit outside in February but the patio heaters made it feel weirdly like a holiday. The food was honestly incredible. Huge portions, pickles were spot on. Mysterious, luminous but delicious sauces- the Korean style sauce in particular was incredible. Meat-eating boyfriend had the Bad Girl Kebab with the doner and garlic chili chick'n, I had the Berlin and Korean Teller Fries to share. There's "Loaded fries" and then there's this. Small but well thought out drink selection, and really good value in a city that doesn't have the hugest street food scene.
