We had a table on a quiet evening but the noise levels were moderate and could be loud when full. We had a a typical South African selection, Springbok frikadels mealie bread and halva pudding amongst others. All were delicious and generous in quantity. SA wines were great and served in decent quantity. The evening was tarnished by the addition of a βcharity donationβ which appeared in the main bill and hence attracted a cheeky service charge on top. We had it removed by the irritation somewhat soured the overall experience.

If youβre craving bold flavors and hearty portions, this South African steakhouse delivers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you step inside, the warm and rustic atmosphere sets the tone β relaxed, inviting, and true to its roots. This is not my first time in Vivat Bacchus and the star of the menu for me today is the Pork belly. Cooked to perfection over open flames, each cut is tender, juicy, and infused with that distinctive smoky flavor South African cuisine is known for. The basting sauces and marinades add a rich depth, balancing spice and sweetness beautifully. For those who enjoy variety, they offer braai boards which includes a steak, ostrich and boerewers, with sides like mielie bread and green salads. Sauces available are chakalaka, bernaise, monkeygland and peppercorn β authentic touches that make the meal feel even more special. They have this new thing called the Biltong trolley, which i am looking forward to try next time. Service is attentive without being overbearing, with staff who are happy to recommend cuts of meat or explain the South African specialties. Shout out to Carlβs team (Kyle D, Ayusha and Erik) The wine list, featuring some excellent South African reds, pairs perfectly with the grilled meats and enhances the overall experience. They also gave a take home treat for our kids which i find a sweet gesture.. Overall, this steakhouse strikes the perfect balance between authenticity and quality. Whether youβre a steak enthusiast or simply curious to try South African flavors, itβs a spot worth returning to again and again.

Wow this place is true to it's menu, felt so good to enjoy a fine meal with flavor, quality and great portions too. The staff know their menu very well, perfect selection of wines as well, I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the boerwors, rump steak, mealie bread and the magical edible candle, what a clever innovative idea, loved the taste of the candle. Definitely going back on Saturday, taking my friend there for her birthday and this will be my next supper club outing with my friends

Lovely restaurant minutes away from London Bridge station. They offer a nice and varied menu focusing on meat and fish but they also have some vegetarian options. Nice wine list and we loved the cheese room! The staff is very welcoming and polite and service was quick and on point.

Nice restaurant in a good location right near London Bridge and The Shard. Food was very nice and service was decent too. Only giving 4 stars as the cheese room was not open and the menu did not feel very South African at all. (My partner is South African)
