We were a group of five people, we arrived early just after the restaurant open at 1230, before the restaurant got busy, we had the opportunity to meet the chief chef. Apparently he is a very experienced and well established chef trained & specialised in Sichuan cuisine, he is also interested in other Chinese cuisines, he used to work in some landmark Chinese sichen restaurants in London, included a Michelin restaurant in London. This restaurant has recently changed management and the kitchen staff, he is the newly appointed master chef! He talked passionately about making good food and how to pair them with different alcoholic drink. We felt very honored as he showed us the kitchen and told us how he upgraded it into a professional kitchen, what I saw is a clean and hygienic kitchen which is most important for me. The waitressing staff don't seem to be from Sichuan but I think the chef is. After a welcoming tour of the restaurant, we told them some of us can't manage the Sichua spicy hot food! The staff assured us they can adjust the level of spiciness accordingly to suit the customer's ability. We didn't have to wait long before the food arrived, it proved that the chef kept his promise, the level of spiceness varies from dish to dish, they serve our different spicy tolerance. The food is so flavoursome, unlike most spicy food in other restaurants that usually numbed my taste buds and I couldn't tasting anything but heat. I could taste the flavours of all the ingredients which mean the food had been well marinated with varies spices, the food here is just so delicious that I couldn't stop myself eating although the chillies were making me sweat. I highly recommend the beef jerk, the most tender jerk I have ever eaten. They made it themselves from scratch, not from instant jerk packages. You can order one to dine in and an extra one to take away, don't miss the jerk if you like beef. The roast fish is another highlight, its made generously with many other ingredients, ie. lotus root, black mushroom, potato... you won't get the funny fish smell. Same as the duck blood dish, I don't normally eat blood but this one is so delicious, you can only taste the smooth texture of the coagulated blood, no unpleasant smell. Sweet and vinegar ribs, they are from heaven!! Another dish I recommend is the fried rice pudding dessert, it put a perfect ending to our dinning experience.

We had a great dinner here, the menu was full of interesting dishes we didn’t know. Mapo tofu was our favorite, amazing flavors. Very generous portion sizes. The restaurant is simple but has quite a nice atmosphere. Service was good. The only downside was that the duck was extremely oily. Still very good, but too oily for our taste.

Dan-dan noodles is great. Not too spicy (or for some, this is not considered spicy at all). Kinda comfort food for me and I think this place does it right. Btw, it looks like now a standard practice to charge 12.5% for service charge in most London places, even if you are eating alone.

The name of the restaurant (老成都), and internal decor suggests that it's Sichuan (四川) cuisines. But the staff seems to be Malaysians. And the beef noodles I had didn't taste authentic.. the noodles were rather limp (like packet noodles) and the soup based was off. Although there were pitches of tap water available (in the service area), they made me feel like I must at least order a bottle of still water, but I went for a Chinese beer instead. Net net, the food weren't great, neither was service or value.

Flavorful food at convenient location in central London. The mixed beef hot pot is of great value, with lots of meat slices, trips, and tendons

I really enjoyed the Jumbal set menu for two, especially the ribs, shredded pork, glutinous rice sticks and sweet and spicy sauce noodles - highly recommend this dish! The team were friendly and service was great!

Cant give anything less than 5. I go there quite frequently and it’s always good. It’s an authentic Sichuanese dish, but not the spicy ones. They have a set menu which includes many of the small dishes at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend.

Very delicious and authentic Chinese restaurant. The 9 small dishes were really good. My favorite dish was the cold noodles. They are a bit spicy but the taste is outstanding! Definitely worth going again. Highly recommend;)

I grew up eating Sichuanese food cooked by my grandma and it’s my favorite Chinese cuisine. The menu of this restaurant looked AMAZING and the smell of the food that other people ordered made me drool :’) sadly I was there alone so couldn’t order a lot. I only got the pork rib spicy noodles and it was DELICIOUS!!!! Definitely lived up to my high standards :) would want to come again.

The food here is of a mediocre quality. That is not why I gave it three stars. The wait and the lack of service were the issues. It took over an hour for them to deliver our food, and they forgot to cook one of the items we ordered. We ordered fried spicy chicken, which arrived cold. The good news is that the owner gave us another complimentary, which was actually quite hot. I spoke with the owner following the dinner, and they apologized for being overbooked and short on staff. I requested that they waive the service charge, which they did.
