I just moved to the area and am always looking for good food. obnoxious, horrible woman took my order, completely rude. I hadn’t even finished ordering and she put the phone down, then I had to call bk and she did it again. Needless to say I won’t ever call again.

First time at this take away. The reviews looked good so we thought we would try it. Very friendly over the phone to order. The place was very clean and the prices were very good indeed. The food was very tasty and we were impressed. We have now found our local after trying out many others. Thank you and see you soon. Billy

Rude and aggressive people. Red flags from the call. Collected food then they all wanted to fight me as I simply brought food back due to them putting sesame seeds in my food. I was made fun of due to my profession and goaded I should of known regarding allergies. But when do you add sesame to special fried rice and chicken? The younger girl is young enough to be my daughter her mum needs to teach her manners and the mum came out aggressive saying I wasn't allowed to feel unwell. I politely asked for my money back and I was screamed at all the way out of the door. The young ghetto girl slammed the money down also which I found frightening. She also made up the cost over the phone and changed her mind 3x and charged me extra I feel. Customer is always right but they need to be looked at in terms of aggressive behaviour. I'm so proud of myself and how i dealt with their unprofessional attitude and kept silent with my money back spent Best place elsewhere near North Midd Hospital where we serve. Absolute bullies and have no right in shouting at me all cause I said you put sesame seeds in a meal I order regularly. Never seen that before. Then they lied and said they will change. Then few seconds oh we didn't put sesame seeds in. I've read the reviews and I'm not the only one they have been aggressive towards. What did I do Peking chef to warrant such attitude. If you are not happy in your job pack up and let others run it. So shaken up.

I couldn’t give 0 star so I have to give 1. The food gave me bad stomach issues and couldn’t stop going to the bathroom. I don’t think the food was freshly cooked there was a bad smell of something burnt and awful taste. When I phoned back the owner I was told I would receive a refund that never happened just lies. Don’t risk your health there is a better takeaway just literally round the corner (Red Bamboo) some of the nicest food I’ve eaten you won’t regret going there but you’ll definitely regret going to Peking Chef poor poor quality takeaway. Not a proper restaurant that has seating because they can’t serve that crap to your face I suppose. Never never going back there again. If your hungry go to red bamboo you’ll love it.

I’ve just moved to the area and was on the hunt for my new go-to Chinese takeaway. Sadly, this one won’t be it. :( Let’s start with the price: for what you’re getting, it doesn’t feel good value. The portion sizes are on the smaller side, with dishes like Singapore noodles and salt & spice squid served in the standard small metal containers. Other places will give you larger portions for the same price, so this felt a bit like splashing out on a 5-star meal and getting a 2-star portion. They also have a “no freebies” policy which was a shocker. Even with a £50 order, I had to pay for my own prawn crackers. Taste-wise, it’s a mixed bag. The curry chicken was quite bland, lacking salt and curry flavour. The Singapore noodles were wetter than what I’ve had in other places, and we sadly found an unblended clump of curry powder. The vegetable spring rolls were pleasantly handmade and not the standard frozen packet ones, but they were mostly pastry with 2-3 veggie strands inside. On the bright side, the crispy shredded beef was actually tasty, so kudos for that. Overall, I hope this serves as constructive feedback rather than just criticism. I didn’t encounter the bad customer service others have mentioned, but unfortunately, the food just didn’t deliver. Here’s hoping they can improve because the crispy beef deserves some equally good company!”

The staff on the phone are nice enough and fine at taking orders but my god the food was awful - all the meat was over cooked, the special fried rice was a disgrace if I’m being frank, the spring rolls were undercooked and soggy.. I could go on and on and on (what the hell was that sauce on the beef and black bean) - sort your act out, wasted 50 quid on food for 2, was expecting it to be at least half decent!

Wish I had written reviews when this occurred. We ordered a set meal for two and an additional boiled rice as my wife cannot eat egg, when I arrived to pay and collect, the lady on the counter who was rather rude tried to insist the meal was no longer a set meal as we had ordered an extra rice and wanted to charge the individual prices which were higher. I questioned this and was in the end walked out and did not take the meal and went to somewhere with better customer service and never went back. The food was average at best a was not worth putting up with there second rate service and food. Replying to the owners comment it was pre lockdown and as the title suggests it was a recent historic event that the review was mentioning.

A really good Chinese takeaway. The food is always fresh and delicious. Its always very busy, so the staff are on the go constantly. Sadly they don't deliver or have uber eats or deliver. If they did it would be a 5 star, hands down

My family and I have agreed that Peking Chef is the best Chinese takeaway in the area! The food is delicious with reasonable prices. The woman serving us is always friendly. Definitely have become regular customers now!

This has to be the best Chinese takeaway in North London. The food has so much flavour. I’ve been eating here for many years and the food is consistent. Every now and again I’ll try somewhere else and regret my decision. Added bonus is the lady who runs the show at the tills... She’s wacky and full of personality.
