Hi, the staff were very helpful and obliging, finding the area i needed as my mobility is not good. No problem when I asked for a gift receipt as I bought a present for my grandson.
The employee was rude, made comments, was angry that she had to hang up the clothes and packed the clothes in a bag like garbage. Batley sport direct. Won't go there anymore.
My husband and I were out shopping in Birstall we saw a sports direct store and we popped into buy some work shoes for my husband … the shoes had dirt on them even though the shoes were in a box …it was noticeable dirt we asked the lady on the till if we could have the same size but another pair … unfortunately they didn’t have any in stock .. the lady on the counter said she would ask the manager if she would knock money off ( we didn't ask for a discount) anyway the manager Sarah who was stood there said no as there was no actual damage to the shoe which is fine but the tone she said it in and her body language and facial expressions were off ..she then suggested we use a baby wipe .. if we wanted shoes with dirt on them we would have got 2nd hand shoes from online .. would definitely never go there again in the end we left the shoes after the poor attitude … there is a way to speak to people however the lady on the till was very helpful
The store itself was fine, but the low rating is due to the foul language from one of the staff. As we walked passed a young Asian staff member who was chatting to his female colleague, he casually dropped a few F bombs which was highly inappropriate given that he saw that I had two children with me. Didn't catch his name but he's the shorter of the two Asian males that we saw in the store today
It has carparking, it has a reasonable selection of what they stock and the staf are very pleasant. With the added bonus of you are not subsidising the toons.
Excellent service by Danny the manager and his staff, really friendly and helpful!!! Iv been to other sports direct stores ie White rose, they weren't as helpful . The Birstal staff and the manager are brilliant , in today's day it is rare to experience such good customer service. Thank you very much Danny and team ;)
It ticked all the boxes we bought several items all at prices we were happy with and were all well established names in their field from trainers to ladles walking summer trainers and walking socks both men n women.
I'm not sure whether it was the time of day for the visit (Sunday, just before closing) but there didn't seem to many staff around. I had to look around for someone to fetch the shoe sizes I wanted to try, and even then they didn't have the sizes I wanted (which I thought was odd. Admittedly they were clearance so I maybe should have expected that). When it came to paying I asked how much the contactless limit was (even though I knew, it's just a habit of mine) I was told £45... I'm sure the limit has been much higher than that for at least a year now! The till staff should have known this in my opinion, I can imagine it's a fairly common question. Otherwise, the clothing I went in to purchase (men's running gear) was a little hard to find as the women's selection was mixed in/no clear divide with the mens. Once I found what I wanted there was a great selection of items in many different sizes. To summarise my review, the visit was let down by the staff (or lack thereof) at the time of the visit.
