Probably the best B&Q in Manchester. Wide range of stock in store and plenty of parking. Either use here or Toolstation in Middleton for my DIY projects.

Came in store this morning and was shocked to find little to no staff members on the shop floor to help me with my queries. I walked around the shop and eventually found a staff member who told me β€œcannot help it’s not my department”! However, came across Thomas who already seemed busy with a customer but assured me if i gave him two minutes he would be happy to help. He took his time to carefully listen to what i needed and helped me with things i didn’t know- even things β€œnot on his department”. He was polite, informative and extremely helpful! He knew exactly what i wanted and his suggestions were fantastic and much appreciated. Thank you to this young man for taking his time to deal with me- a customer and doing an excellent job! Five stars for the young man! However, some staff need to learn manners and be able to respectfully redirect a customer if they don’t know what they’re doing….

Massive range of building tools and supplies β€” I nearly always find what I need. Stock levels are generally good. Staff are helpful and know their stuff, though occasionally it can take a bit of time to find someone. The timber cutting service is useful when it's open, but it's often closed, so worth calling ahead to check. Plenty of parking is always available, which is a big plus. Prices are fair overall, though some items can be a bit on the pricey side.

I do not like this store, it's enormous and there's never any staff on the shop floor when I go in. They have lots of list sales because I can't stand wandering around, hoping to find what I want. On the couple of times I have seen staff, they are rushing ahead and call over their shoulder to me, I'm deaf, so that's a lost sale. Outside, it's so sad to see the neglected plants, some water logged from the rain and others blown over by the wind. It's afternoon, and they are still there. How can the high prices be justified and the garden centre in poor condition?

Fantastic customer service from Andrew in the design / planning team. Looking for help in designing a kitchen Andrew booked me in for a next day appointment, no hard sell just really easy pleasant experience. Andrew took the time to make sure I knew all the options available then helped me design the perfect kitchen for the space I have available. Very impressed with his down to earth attitude and his attention to what I wanted not what was most expensive or on offer etc.

Wanted some mouse traps. My friend had requested electronic ones. Member of staff had never heard of them. We asked where they were and found them although the price shocked me.

This is another big store where all household items are sold, all kind of Engineering tools are sold here, electrical fittings, plumbing fittings and accessories are sold here, interior design materials are sold here, any kind of building materials are sold here. It is a place to be when you are in Manchester city, B&Q Cheertham Hill has it all, it is your one stop shop for your Engineering tools, equipment, and building finishes.

Two stars only for some decent choice of plants, otherwise I would score B&Q lower. I used to go to B&Q very often, but things are changing. Even if your browser is telling you that you will find item "x" in B&Q store - do not believe it in 100%. Stores are not updating their stock and in most of the cases you will go out empty handed.

Good range of items although shop a bit of a maze. Stock levels been ok recently. Sometimes staff are helpful - if you manage to find someone in the aisles.
