A cosy restaurant and interesting interior decor. Their menu had a good variety of meat and fish to cater to dietary preferences and made this restaurant a good meeting place for small groups, too. Portion size was generous and ideal for sharing. Very good value for money. I particularly enjoyed the pork belly served with sauteed kale, apple, and celariac; that was a beautiful and balanced dish.

Was dying to try this place and finally got to try it on my anniversary! was not disappointed at all. Food was delicious, prices were reasonable, was well catered for and such a romantic atmosphere with the low lit lighting and candles. We truly couldn't have spent our 2 year celebration anywhere else :) thank you for the memory!

Tiny place with lots of character - you can sit in the red booths for more privacy. The food is delicious and the staff were very kind. There is a very good deal for 2 or 3 course menu, so we could try different dishes. We went there in the afternoon so it was only us, but they do serve bigger parties so it would be better to make a reservation just in case, as the place is small.

Loved the decoration and vibes of the place. The food was good and the service. The table we got wasn't the best because it was near the door and it was a bit cool but for the rest everything was great. They offer vegan and vegetarian options and one vegan dessert.

Firstly whilst I am giving 4 stars as average rating, I highly recommend this place for the value for money. Where do you find these days a place where the starter is less than Β£5, and main course under Β£14, and you get full and classic French and done properly? The place is a bit quirky and not the most fanciest of the place, but it definitely is a good place to eat good French. I’d say I’d preferred duck to be med rare and steak tartare to be more spicy, but otherwise the food was perfect.

Delicious food, however cheese plater felt like it was taken straight out of the fridge. Would be better if it was room temperature to actually enjoy the cheese. Apart from that, I am pretty sure I will be back.

This restaurant is almost an Islington institution and used to be my favourite French restaurant in the whole of london. I used to come here every few weeks but unfortunately haven’t been to this restaurant for the last 5 years. I finally managed to visit it again tonight but things are bit different. The menu still offers a nice selection of French cuisine at a good price (fix prix menu for 2/3 courses) But the taste in my opinion has changed. It’s less flavourful I mean it’s not bad but I remembered it was better in the past. I also believe the whole kitchen team has changed so maybe it’s a new owner? Service was still fast and friendly. I mean it’s still good but not as amazing as it used to be.

Always a pleasure attending one of my top picks for French restaurants in London. Selective menu with a wide variety. Food is always done to a high standard, packed full of flavours and a great warm atmosphere

Lovely French restaurant that we went without booking on a Friday night. The prices are super affordable for the quality and size, it was quite authentic, my ribeye steak was perfectly cooked with a flavorful peppercorn sauce, the duck was pink in the middle - but slightly overcooked on the edges although the gratin dauphinois was delicious! :) loved the lobster and crayfish raviolo but the foie gras lacked a tiny bit of taste although still enjoyable on a soft brioche bread.
