The Royal Oak is a fantastic pub with food that never disappoints. Their new chef, James, has completely transformed the menu, he’s by far the most talented chef they’ve ever had. Every dish he prepares is full of flavour and beautifully cooked, showing real skill and attention to detail. The roast dinners are outstanding: perfectly cooked meat, crisp yet fluffy roast potatoes, rich gravy, and all the trimmings you could hope for. The portions are generous without compromising on quality, and the price is excellent for what you get. Thanks to James, every visit feels like a real treat. I couldn’t be happier with my experience.

I had a great experience at this pub yesterday. Bar staff were great! Really polite and friendly. The food was amazing too. Really good value for money and the quality far exceeded my expectations. Will definitely be back!

Given that the owners had only been in place for 2 weeks the food and service were very good. Lovely couple who were very welcoming. Good value food and drink. Enjoyed our visit.

We were heading back to Cardiff after a day out at Drayton manor and wanted to avoid traffic. What a shame we aren’t local and stumbled on this pub. From the minute we walked in with 3 kids in tow we felt welcomed not only by the lovely barmaid but the locals too. The food was absolutely delicious and nothing was too much for them. Absolute gem of a place and if we’re ever in the area again we’d definitely revisit!

Lovely meals, tasty & plentiful. If you like chilliest, try the spicy chicken strips in the basket just over a fiver & the steak pie is to die for - full of lean steak which just melts in your mouth. Good prices too! Would suggest you sit in the restaurant area rather than bar for food.
