We were staying in the nearby hotel for work and fancied some pub grub. This was a short walk away so booked a table. When we arrived it was very quiet and not immediately clear there was food being served. However once I’d established with the owner at the bar that she had us down, all was well! We sat in a cosy part of the pub and were presented with a simple menu full of pub classics. The lady confirmed everything was homemade which was perfect. We had a variety of dishes, all of which were absolutely delicious and fresh. I had the fish and chips with mushy peas and it was cooked to perfection. The prices were incredibly reasonable and we all left feeling very happy we’d found the place. We were even treated to a sample of hazelnut cheesecake which was utterly delicious. The ale was also well kept and very reasonably priced. I got chatting to the lady and she said they’d only had the pub about a year. I suggested getting the menu on the website so potential customers could see it. This is a classic ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ place. I’d highly recommend it and is a great way to support a local business.

What a great pub... we were staying at a local hotel and decided to visit the bay rather than pay hotel beer prices... everyone at the pub was extremely welcoming, so much so that Sarah and Dave made us feel like family- I really wish we had a pub like this near home! So much so that sarah made me sandwiches so I didn't go hungry during the night!! What more could you want for a pub?!?!

I visited with my wife and daughter for my birthday. Whilst initially disappointed to discover the pub did not have Sky Sports to watch our team Birmingham City play Wrexham, we had a most amazing evening. Dave and Kate were excellent hosts and made my birthday one to remember. Would definitely recommend to others and will definitely be visiting again soon.

Needed to find somewhere to eat and dropped in on the of chance, it had just turned 8pm. Very quiet, only 2 other people in the pub but it was the middle of the week. Very nice lady behind the bar more than happy to serve food and offered me a menu. Food arrived quickly, nice and hot and tasty. If I was staying in the area for any length of time I would definitely go back. It's nice to be greated by a friendly face and a person that obviously understands what customer service is all about.

We stopped for a quick lunch on the way. It was a surprise! The steak pie was delicious and the meat was very tender, perfect! They were also very welcoming to my dogs, bringing us water and treats. Excellent value for money!

Had a fabulous Christmas Day meal today with husband and son at The Bayhorse. We had three courses and all were delicious. Well presented, tasty and generous portions. Staff were friendly and very attentive. The chef came out between every course to see that we were happy. They hadn’t over booked the tables either- so we were made to feel special. Well done- we will be back! 5/5.
