I visited Hebden Bridge yesterday for a solo trip and decided to pop into Mooch Bar-Cafe because the reviews were great. When I first walked in, a lady greeted me and asked how many were in my party. I mentioned I was alone, and she seated me in the waiting area, which I assumed was just a temporary spot. The place had a lovely ambiance with great lighting, good music and a cozy atmosphere, so I was genuinely looking forward to a nice meal. However, it got awkward when they actually served my food right there in the waiting area instead of moving me to a proper table. I'm aware that It was weekend and I would have happily waited for a table to open up, but they never mentioned it and just served me on the sofa. Meanwhile, I noticed another solo diner did get a table, which made me feel overlooked and uncomfortable. To be honest, the food itself tasted good, and I would have liked to enjoy it properly. But I ended up half-eating my meal because it felt strange sitting there while everyone else was at real tables. I'm not someone who likes to cause a fuss, so I just left still feeling a bit hungry. On the plus side, the person at the till was really friendly, which I appreciated, but overall the experience left me feeling pretty let down.

I would give 5 stars but unfortunately, the espresso coffees were very muddy - couldn't really taste the coffee. I think the espresso machine needs a good clean. I'm sure the coffee they use would be of good quality - if it's anything like the divine apple strudel I ate... very good for a quick snack or somewhere to chill out. Excellent service. Good decor. Very clean toilets. Just such a shame about the espressos...

Lovely cafe with chilled vibes and kind, amenable staff. We paused here with the kids for some respite during a busy bank holiday Monday exploring the town. We had great food and attentive service. Beautiful decor, too!

The second visit here is just as good as the first. Will definitely go again when in Hebden Bridge. Had soup both times, which was delicious. Lovely atmosphere and staff.

I love this place! I always make sure I visit when I am in Hebden. Lovely staff, great food & atmosphere & lots of quirky decorations. The chai lattes are amazing. Some of the one star reviews read really arrogantly and certainly not the service I've had or observed over many visits.

Itβs a really lovely cafe with great decor and music. The boys who work there I think only a few days a week are great. So friendly and welcoming and can tell they actually enjoy their job. They make great frothy drinks aswell. However every time Iβve ordered food, itβs been very disappointing. I had the pumpkin soup which ,for the price, was not very flavourful or impressive. The best thing about it was the bread which I feel like shouldnβt be the main component. The girls who work there are very uninterested in their job and I feel like how the kitchen is ran all in all, it needs improvement to ensure the quality of the food is consistent throughout. Iβve ordered the lamb which although a nice cut of meat, was very basic in flavouring again and I was paying Β£15 for it. The apple strudle looked amazing and I was very excited to try but yet again was disappointed by the lack of depth to the flavour. Iβve given this cafe a lot of attempts to redeem itself but Iβve been disappointed every time by the lack of attention to customers, the inconsistency between service between the two young boys who are servers in comparison to all the women at the establishment. Itβs a real shame because mooch has such a great vibe to it and they have such a great food and drink menu but thereβs a lot of room for improvement !

Really good place for a brunch. I got the avocado toast which was great, and my fiancΓ© got the veggie breakfast which he loved. The coffee was decent. The service was very nice, although a bit slow. We waited for probably 15 minutes for coffee and then 30 minutes between our drinks and our food being served. Would definitely go back though!
