We’ve been to York a million times, but came over today with some friends who have never been to the area. We stumbled across Spring Espresso, and I’m so glad we did. The service, the vibes, the food and coffee!!!! Just wow. Absolutely incredible eats and such friendly staff. This is our new favourite. Thank you so much!
I came in for a bit of work and a few coffees and it did not disappoint! The coffees are really excellent and the people are very friendly and accommodating. It has such a nice ambience and they serve a wide variety of vegan milks which is always a bonus! Would definitely recommend! Thank you!!
This is one of two spring espressos in York this one is in lendal, the other is in fossgate about 10 minutes walk away. I paid a visit on the 25th September 2025. Ive wanted to come here for a long time (since 2012) and it did not disappoint. the coffee and cake were excellent.
The staff were really nice and the coffee is good but the food was awful. I ordered the potato hash and it didn’t resemble hash at all, just soggy potatoes with sweetcorn, which I wish I had sent back. Unbelievable for £13.50! My wife ordered avocado which wasn’t ripe at all and had to be sent back.
Enjoyed our flat whites and breakfast sandwiches with a welcome spicy flavour. An easy walk from The Grand, we were lucky to find a seat in this popular Cafe.
Really well done oat flat whites. Friendly. Buzzy - it gets popular. Avocado toast was good; French toast was also good. Poached eggs on sourdough were good. Porridge was excellent.
Lovely little cafe. Managed to get a table on a Sunday morning. Everyone lovely. Served tea in cute little tea pots, a good selection of food for breakfast/brunch. I had Pancakes which were great.
Love this little coffee shop in the centre of York. I've visited both branches, and they serve amazing coffee as well as some great food. Was delighted with the vegan pistachio brownie, which had a right density and flavour combination. The flat white with coconut milk was also lovely, full of flavour and texture, and not coconut dominant. Appreciate that they don't offer WiFi as it is a small place, so you don't want to have people spend hours working on laptops. Highly recommend this to everyone.
Highly recommend! The pancakes are pure perfection! I visited 2 different spring espresso cafes in York and they were both great. Friendly stuff and accommodating, I asked for a change in my order and they were more than happy to adjust it. The pancakes were a massive portion and super yummy with a generous portion of maple syrup. I’m salivating thinking about them! The coffee was excellent! The brownie was delicious but a bit dry. Overall a great place- would definitely visit again!
