Visited the ASDA café today and ordered a chicken pizza along with breakfast items. The pizza arrived with chicken that was visibly undercooked - pale, glossy and translucent in places. The issue was raised this immediately and was given a refund for the pizza, which I appreciate. However, I was then told that because the pizza was frozen, the chicken “couldn’t have made me ill.” That is incorrect. Frozen food still needs to be cooked thoroughly, and undercooked chicken is a genuine food safety risk regardless of where it comes from. The baked beans also tasted stale, as though they had been sitting for several days, and were not fit to eat. On top of the food issues, the cleanliness of the café was extremely poor. The tables were dirty, and the highchairs were visibly filthy. I had to go into the shop and buy my own antibacterial wipes to clean the table and highchair before my child could sit down. That should never be necessary in a café, particularly one used by families. I’m disappointed not just by the quality of the food, but by the overall hygiene standards and the way legitimate concerns were dismissed rather than taken seriously. A refund does not address the underlying issues. I won’t be returning.

The over 60's soup and a drink is now awful. The tomato soup was just coloured water and not much of it. It was quite good on previous winters. They might as well not bother, if they think this is nourishment for us oldies. Pathetic Asda !

Out of all of the supermarket breakfasts this is without doubt the worst I have experienced. Small, dirty cutlery, dirty table, tasteless coffee, poor quality sausages, dried husk of a black pudding, condiments in sachets that are limited to two per person (like a school canteen!)! The lady serving was nice enough, but really I suppose I should have listened to the other reviews and guessed what a 6 quid breakfast would be like.... not very good. You're best off exploring other options - Tesco isn't too far from here and is a world apart.
