    Review for I.T Auto Centre / MOT Station – Herbert Road, Birmingham NO EMAIL ADDRESS TO SERVE COURT PAPERS? WHY? I am extremely disappointed with the standard of MOT testing carried out by this business. My vehicle was issued with an MOT pass despite multiple safety-critical issues being present at the time of inspection. Both the red brake system warning light and the ABS warning light were illuminated during the test. Under DVSA MOT Inspection Manual rules, either of these conditions requires an immediate MOT failure. Nevertheless, the vehicle was passed. In addition, an advisory was recorded stating that the front brake discs were worn, despite the discs having substantial remaining service life. This led me to incur unnecessary replacement costs purely in reliance on the MOT outcome. A further driveline defect, namely a damaged CV boot showing progressive deterioration, was also not identified during the inspection and later resulted in additional labour costs. When queried, the tester stated that checking fluids was “not his responsibility”, which demonstrates a concerning misunderstanding of MOT obligations relating to warning lamps and defect categorisation. Due to the seriousness of these issues, and the financial loss caused, the matter has now escalated formally and is proceeding through legal channels. I would strongly advise others to exercise caution and ensure they independently verify MOT findings if using this station.

    This is a very good MOT centre and most of the staff are very good. You can usually just arrive and get a mot slot within hour or two however there is one very rude guy who barks a lot who stands outside, I would recommend avoiding him as you may end up punching his lights out as he is a person who is rude, arrogant and has no idea of how to talk to people. They should sack him as many customers feel the same as he attacks everyone n shouts instructions.
