   **Fantastic Atmosphere!** This pub is undoubtedly the best in the village! It has a wonderful atmosphere that makes it a lovely place to spend time. As a single woman, I always feel safe coming in by myself, and I appreciate the friendly environment where I can chat and connect with others. The diverse events and vibrant vibe truly add to the fun and make each visit special. Linz, joss and mark are fun yet efficient - you can end up playing bloc party with the landladies! Highly recommend! -

   What a great place! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean, with crisp white linens and tea making facilities. There was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower which was great as I forgot to bring shower gel! Great pub grub and lovely walks, we’ll be back!

   Having recently stayed at The George for a few nights we can highly recommend a stop here. A chance booking and it was a wonderful break. Such lovely staff with a relaxed feel, super friendly and knowledge of the area. The room was comfortable and spacious and all breakfasts and meals were brilliant. Hopefully will be back.

   Another very delicious breakfast at The George. He stuck with our regular Ultimate Breakfast Bap (an absolute winner!) and a pot of tea. I tried the Cooked Breakfast (need to work my way up to the Large Breakfast which i have seen and it is truly humongous!). The Breakfast was just the right size with bacon, sausage, baked beans, grilled tomato, fried egg and a lovely slice of toast with perfectly softened butter. The George is definitely our breakfast go to setting us up nicely before we go to watch football

   We spent a night at the George recently to visit family in Hayfield. The room was lovely and clean, with a really comfy big bed. All the staff were so friendly and they all seemed to be happy to be there. Breakfast was delicious, and the pub itself has a great atmosphere. We will definitely stay at the George again on our next visit.

   Me and my partner booked here as a last minute decision, warm friendly atmosphere, food was excellent, I had garlic mushroom starter, followed by steak and ale pie. We also had 2 dogs with us and the bar staff were very accommodating for the dogs. Room was clean, and the free full English breakfast was nice and an added bonus. We will be returning

   Great old pub. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really good, fast service, well cooked and very well looked after. Bedrooms were a little tired and need an updating, but clean. Great value for money. Good location and carpark. Would definitely stay again.

   Lovely meal with my elderly Mum today. Full menu available plus a specials board. Mum had fresh sea bass with a wine and parsley sauce, horseradish mash and veg. I had a lovely chicken Thai red curry with light fluffy mash. Shared a homemade honeycomb cheesecake for pud. All reasonably priced as well. Bright, clean and warm with nice background music. The lady behind the bar made us very welcome and was very switched on to my mum's needs. Service was great. Rumour was that the place had "gone down", but we were really pleased with the whole experience today, and will be back.

   Nice pub, our local but its one of our favourites in Hayfield. Friendly atmosphere, manager is hands on and available. food is basic and nothing too fancy but it's good and what you want after a long walk, roaring fire in the colder months and good service. Can't comment on the rooms as we're local to the venue.

   Really lovely old pub with really helpful staff and great food. Car park is good. Dogs very welcome. Open fire is wonderful. Unfortunately, the room we were given was an outdated twin room instead of a superior as requested via email. Would stay again when the rooms are updated as great staff.
