My partner left a review after our visit to this restaurant and the owners get the only right of reply. In responding to my partner’s review, there was no magnanimity at all and pretty much a rejection of what my partner said – which is annoying. Neither of us generally write negative reviews – check our history – but this one was deserved. So here is my review. The venue was packed and the seating arrangements were pretty much the same as the benches at Wagamamas. We only had a main course. Mine comprised of a lump of mash a bit smaller in size than an ice cream scoop (stop calling it "pomme puree" – you’re being pretentious!) an inch an a half cube of pork belly, about a tablespoon full of pulled pork and a really small cabbage leaf with some apple sauce/cubes in it. That was it! That was the whole meal. Pretty tasteless, small, but definitely not cheap! We had two drinks each and the bill was almost £70. We’ve eaten out five or six times over Christmas and this was the most unpleasant seating, the smallest portions, the least tasty and the most expensive!

A perfect Cotswolds stay at The Lamb Inn. Warm, cosy and incredibly dog friendly, Minnie was so well looked after and clearly loved it. The food was delicious, the rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and everything felt thoughtfully done. Special thanks to Poppy and Joe who were outstanding and made our stay extra special. Highly recommend.

We have just stayed at this charming pub inn, the room was spacious and very clean, they had thought of everything. We stayed one night after a long walk in the peaks, it's a lovely cosy pub with very welcoming staff. We wanted somewhere with food on site, the restaurant food was absolutely delicious and with a roaring fire the atmosphere was so relaxing. The Lamb Henry was amazing, the menu is great. The full English breakfast the next day was brilliant. Highly recommend this little gem of a pub.

Fabulous building. A very quaint and interesting place. Always a warm welcome from the friendly staff and a warm vibe fron the lovely log burner. Great choice of wines and ales. The menu is good, with a range of options to suit most tastes. My friend had a Rib Eye steak, cooked to perfection and I had a very tasty Lamb Henry. The staff are friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Sensibly priced for goid quality food and great service. .I highly recommend this place

I stayed at The Lamb Inn for one night with a friend while visiting the Peak District. We arrived late, but the staff were very accommodating and provided us with the keys right away. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was absolutely amazing—definitely a highlight of our stay. The only minor issue was that the shower leaked at the bottom, so the water didn’t drain properly. Other than that, everything was great. The inn is conveniently located for exploring the Peak District, though you will need a car to get around. We even spotted some Highland cows nearby, which was a lovely surprise. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay—I’d happily recommend it for a visit to the area.

This is a quintessential old English pub, with a modern twist of gastro pub thrown in for good measure. Food was delicious, plenty of it and hot. Great range for beers and spirits, and they serve the best bar snacks by far in my personal opinion, Pipers crisps. Really friendly staff and the locals were always happy to help with suggestions on things to do. Great experience, and I would highly recommend a visit or stay over in one of their rooms.

Proper country pub aimed primarily at diners with at least three rooms set out for diners with two having solid fuel fires. We ate at lunch time on a quiet Monday with friends. The pub was warm with a comforting smell of wood smoke. The lunch menu was fairly standard and reasonably priced. The food was excellent as was the service, overall a comfortable cozy lunch. As we left we agreed to eat here again and looked forward to spring when the outside area will start to come into its own The evening menu was more interesting and a little more costly but not too bad. I can imagine enjoying an evening meal here with a few comforting drinks in a very convivial atmosphere.

We had a fantastic couple of nights at The Lamb Inn - such a cosy and welcoming pub with excellent service and delicious food. The bed was so comfy and the room was brilliantly equipped, and a great location for visiting different parts of the Peaks. The roast dinner on Sunday and the cooked breakfasts were a definite highlight for us and we would love to come back again! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and looked after :)
