The Mount guest house is currently used by TMBC to house homeless people and families. All of the facilities within the house are substandard. The victims of TMBC have to endure broken bathroom suits, near derelict flooring throughout the building, no cooking facilities to ensure the chance of having a nourishing meal, all that is on offer are two rusty, filthy microwaves. The dining area which houses several fridge freezers full of mouldy food, is constantly dirty with food on table coverings and dirt up the walls, truly a place to avoid eating in. The breakfast offered to the inmates is left for hours sat in the sun with the milk slowly changing to cottage cream, the preserves are not kept clean with many people not using clean cutlery. Walking through the building to your cell you will inevitably play a tune with the creaking floor boards whilst going through the sensory assault with the varying smells from faeces, mature cheddar toe cheese and the old classic.. dirty sweat eau de perfume. Mount guest house is truly a place to rival horror movies. If dirt, sweat and faeces aren't worrying you.. The fire safety standards have been by far the worst I have experienced in a non-test situation, with one member of staff manning the property and insufficient training, DO NOT rely on others to ensure your family is safe. With sirens sounding the only authority figure on site was more concerned with his smart phone rather than ensuring a full evacuation and property search for the alarm trigger. In a nutshell shell .... 1. Dirty 2. Smelly 3. Dilapidated 4. Unsafe

Stayed for a weekβroom was big, bed was decent, but no TV and only one working socket. The lounge was disappointing, as the microwave was always dirty from other guests, so I couldnβt warm my babyβs milk, which was frustrating. On the plus side, Crownpoint is just a 15-minute walk with all the main shops, and thereβs a Co-op nearby for convenience. For the price, I canβt complain too muchβoverall, 6/10.

Terrible place. The one star is for the staff and management for trying. Rooms get cleaned once a week and we were struggling with fleas we had to change room. Some of the staff are rude and nosy. The hotel claims they serve continental breakfast but all you get is bread and some spread. The WiFi is disconnected around 11.00 pm on most days. For the price that was paid, we stayed at better places in London with much better service and hospitality.

The one star is for the guy on reception who was so welcoming when we arrived. Other then that the hotel was dirty, sheets hadn't been changed, the shower had rubbish in the corner, there was people smoking all night talking loudly outside our window, doors opening and shutting from 7am and kids running up and down the corridor outside our room, the photos definatly make this hotel look a little better then what it actually is.. all in all we had the worse night. So if you want to go for a cheap night to stay and can sleep through noise and not forgetting how unclean the place is then this is for you! I think i would rather sleep in my car then have to go through that again.

For the price don't expect the hilton. But room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Did not have the breakfast or venture anywhere else around the guest house as only stayed one night, so I can't comment. Does have on site car park but small and busy at times. Staff helpful.

I had a very pleasing two nights at The Mount. The staff were welcoming and my single room was warm, perfectly clean and well furnished. The bed was very comfy and with excellent quality linen. I found the building to be very quiet and had no complaints. The shower didn't get especially warm but the bathroom was very spacious and modern. It's walking distance to some takeaways, a corner shop, chip shop etc. I was up too early for breakfast so I can't comment on that, although the dining/TV room was quite impressive. Heaps of car parking space and nearby bus stops. I thought the bill was very fair. Would definitely stay there again.
