   Awful experience we arrived at mere for a special afternoon tea at the tree house ,no warning about building work on site mud,wet etc etc , when we got to the tree house they didn't have a reservation for us or apologise, it was booked for another party we had to walk away after getting dressed up and ready to celebrate my friends 60th birthday I was so embarrassed, she wanted to go to mere but what a disgrace we had to go to a random pub but we were devastated, when I rang for a refund there was very little apology & no offer of a small compensation ( maybe a bottle of wine ) for our awful experience, we booked directly with mere so it wasn't a Groupon or wowcher, We all feel we were treated badly & won't go again as there was little apology or understanding from the staff

   Played golf here. Superb experience from start to finish. Friendly in the lounge area and the golf team were excellent and made us very welcome. Course in good condition especially with all the rain we have had. The greens were excellent and ran true and consistent. Don't be put off by all the improvements going on. Can't wait for everything to be finished and visit as a full package.

   Whilst the course was i great nick. Sign posing of holes wa not great. We got rained off and it was down to.us to sort out refunds as nothing was offered. This was not the luxury experience I would have expected. That said the staff were excellent it was just the planning. The course lay out and the weather that ws a let down. Not a 5 star venue until they sort out the vasics

   Played here with a couple of friends last weekend and it was excellent. The course is in great condition, greens rolled true and the layout keeps you thinking. Lunch in the clubhouse was well cooked and the service was friendly. Worth the money and I will return.

   Mere Gift Voucher Expiry – Short-Sighted & No Goodwill My wife’s £100 Mere gift voucher expired in April 2025 — just 6 months after issue. We’ve been loyal customers for years, spending regularly and buying vouchers for others. When we politely asked for a short extension, we were told there was “no flexibility.” On principle, someone paid £100 for that voucher — the money was taken, yet we received nothing in return. No goodwill, no exception, nothing. For the sake of £100, they’ve lost us permanently. We won’t be returning, ever.

   Simon and the team were absolutely amazing during our stay. Everyone was very welcoming from the moment we checked in, which they went above and beyond for my girlfriend’s birthday. We were both completely blown away with the amazing service we received from everyone. It was so thoughtful for the complementary Champagne and the additional touches for such a special occasion. This made our stay very memorable. The spa and pool facilities were fantastic and the food and drinks were incredible. I would definitely recommend the Mere Hotel to anyone and we will definitely be back again soon.

   What a fantastic hotel. Hotel rooms were spacious and well thought out. With heated floors and a heated mirror in the bathroom to make life that little more luxurious. The food was incredible, the menu was simple but good simple, offering a range of mouth watering options. The staff were impeccable, service was fast and glasses were barely empty. We celebrated our 20th anniversary of being together and can't wait to go back. Situated in the perfect location for a romantic getaway and a simple night away of indulgence.

   A little mixed experience here. We had a delightful stay overall, the rooms are great and the view is lovely, the whole area is very picturesque. The spa has incredible facilities. The only issues we had were driving l service related. Being constantly stopped for our dog, despite it being an active service dog. Including the middle of the night. The lady who gave the massages didn't seem to know what she was doing also and didn't react to feedback we gave. Overall it's a good hotel and great amenities but requires a little more attention on the service and staffing front.

   I have just enjoyed a three day golf break at the Mere with 20 friends and we all had a wonderful time. The rooms are delightful, clean and well designed, the food is excellent, and most importantly, the staff are all friendly and helpful. One morning, I heard cleaning staff singing to themselves - happy workers is always a sign of a good company. Thanks to all those who made our three days memorable.
