I've passed my Life in the UK test last week but I've not had a good experience at this centre. The security procedures were mainly manual, very unreasonably strict and don't adhere to those mentioned in the video sent in advance of the test. The test information sent in advance need to be updated so candidates know what to expect. As a Muslim woman wearing scarf (Hijab), I was asked to remove my hijab conpletely behind a barrier although the video doesn't mention anything about this (the lady shown on the demo video sent via email in advance is Muslim). They also asked me to show my arms by pulling up my sleeves to the elbows (fine) and open the zip on my boots and pull a bit the tights I was wearing under my trousers to be able to see the ankle area!! This was over the top and unnecessary as the 3 ladies working in the centre (comprises 2 rooms basically) were around all the time then we were sat in a separate room in front of a computer where an examiner can see us all the time. Also, before the security checks, I had to put my belongings in the locker and had to show my pockets so I see no reason why I was asked to uncover my ears again in the computer room as I had just been checked by the other lady where I had to take off my hijab completely. The test room is only like 2 meters away, so how is it possible for anyone intending to cheat to sneak anything in in between these two steps? I think the security procedures need to be improved, and I think more staff are needed as I felt the staff were short with me, rushing and quite busy. It was not a pleasant atmosphere I must say but that didn't affect my test as I finished quite early. However, such procedures could easily and unnecessarily stress anyone out. Other than that, I was admitted to the test room before time as I arrived early, which is good and got my results 3 minutes after, in an email. Shout out the guy at the concierge (ground floor), he was very polite & lovely.

On August 12th, 2023, my partner and I visited Bourton House for her UK Life in the UK test. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the receptionist's rude and discriminatory behavior. I felt unfairly discriminated against due to the gentleman's rude and racist attitude.

The rudest security staff/receptionist , I've ever come across in the UK. He was like no one should visit Boulton House again. Either he's a racist or he's not paid enough!!!! If someone contact me, I would like to lodge an official complaint against his behaviour to the guests please.

The staff in this office is very rude and discriminate all those go there to the “the life in the Uk test” , all the staff is very rude and you can feel that they don’t like all the people from abroad who goes there for the test to get the citizenship!! This place needs to be reported for discrimination now, every person from abroad who goes there leave the same bad experience!! This place is a real shame to be reported
