Absolutely disgusted. This restaurant is expensive, and portions are on the small side. I ordered a takeaway of chicken with cashew nuts and vegetables with cashew nuts. Guess what I found in the vegetable one? Yes, you got it; CHICKEN! I couldn't eat my expensive main course, and can not trust Parasol to be honest or have an ounce of integrity. If they had an email I would have challenged them, but they do not. They also did not pick up the phone on the three occasions I tried to call them. If you value honesty and dislike rubbery tinned mushrooms, avoid at all costs!

Went there on a whim thinking we will get some good chinese food. Keep in mind we are used to asian food and have visited countless Chinese restaurants all over the world. This was honestly the worst restaurant i ever visited. The service was mid but not that bad considering our waiter looked tired. The food however was absolutely horrendous. Let me break it down: 1. We started with the Tom Yum soup. When it came there was soup all over the side of the bowl and on the coaster below the bowl, already not a good sign. The soup was tastewise too bland but not bad. However they put not fully ripened tomatoes in it with their insides completely green which really gave the appearance that the tomatoes were moldy inside, which was absolutely off putting for me. I was really expecting a good, comfy and visually appealing Tom Yum soup and was really disappointed. 2. We ordered the Szechuan style chicken. Szechaun style food is my absolute favourite cooking style and I always try to visit a Szechaun restaurant whenever i am traveling, that is to say i love it and was pleasantly surprised to see Szechaun style chicken on the menu. The chicken was horrible, tasted gamey and was not Szechaun style at all, and for the sauce, as hard as we tried we couldnt find the usual and expected Szechuan pepper taste or the hotness usually associated with Szechuan cooking. It was more like a soya sauce even a bit sweet. Horrible! We couldnt have more than a bite. 3. We ordered some spicy squid which was the best of the bunch, the seasoning was great and full of umami flavour and the fried chillies were good, however the squid were extremely greasy. Oil was pouring out of it whenever i had a bite which left an unpleasant mouth feel, I could only have some bite before feeling the oil was too much for me. Overall the worst restaurant i ever visited in my life and i think the first time i left a restaurant with most dishes barely touched and the eery feeling i lost my time and money and wishing my darnest i went somewhere else instead

Visited for a sit in meal which was our first taste from this restaurant. We shared a set meal for two. All food was piping hot and tasty! We asked for extra prawn crackers for our very keen 2 year old, which was not a problem. We all throughly enjoyed our meals and will return. Note for anyone with little ones they don’t have high chairs to offer.

The whole place needs a proper clean. Everything sticky and the toilets are gross. I see their food hygiene rating is 2/5 so I expect the kitchens aren’t much better. That being said the food was tasty and service good. Went for the Sunday buffet which at Β£24.50 was very expensive. Children under 1.4m (about 10 years old) tall pay half price. Overall not really with the cost and there are better (and cleaner) alternatives in the area.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, very good beautiful Char Sui pork(let down very slightly as the pineapple in the sauce didn't taste quite right) Noodles were well seasoned and had a lovely balanced taste, bean sprouts and a nice seasoning of spring onion. Stir fried vegetables, again not overpowered with seasoning. The portions are generous and I came away satisfied. Service was like clockwork, attentive and lighting fast. I've given 5 stars with the caveat that I'd have given maybe 4.8 if I could as the experience was almost perfect let down only by the pineapple.

Takeaway king here.. You! Are! In trouble! If that is the best you got then how the hell are you still in business??? Ordered online, arrived in 10 minutes? Alarm bells... Chicken was nice, chips were great. Chicken in blackbean sauce was watery and flavourless! Egg fried rice was made of batch cooked plain rice with scrambled egg added!? Shocking. Spring rolls are purchased, not made. It shows. Satay sauce.. 3 quid for a tea spoon of it! Not even a starved child was interested, she chewed bog roll instead. Shocking. NEVER again

Absolutely shocking went in took forever to get served. Food was awful no flavour what so ever the mixed vegetables were very slimy and the beef didn’t taste right, when our main course arrived honestly I couldn’t believe it wouldn’t even give it to my dog ! We tried a bit each wasn’t great at all so left it, paid and went and will not return at any point !!! Very disappointing !!

Been living in Abingdon for around 4 years and only recently dined at the Parasol in august. Since then had 2 takeaways as the food is absolutely amazing. Highly recommended

After moving here from London I needed a great Thai place and Parasol is that place. Every time we order delivery we are so so happy with the quality of the food and the authenticity. Service is super and friendly. Delivery has always been fast and ahead of the promised time. Thank you for being here!
