Been shopping here for quite a while now, and it's probably the best Asian supermarket in Liverpool. Good selection of all kinds of things, fresh, frozen, tinned etc. One thing that consistently annoys me though is the checkout staff seemingly unable to say thank you for handing over my money. Okay, I'm not a massive spender compared to some, probably £40-70 a visit, but it's still quite a bit of money to me. Am I missing something here? I have a business myself, and we always try to be nice to our customers, be polite, and hope they return. And generally in Liverpool you'll often have a bit of a chat with check out staff, and 99% of the time they'll thank for for your custom. It's not a deal breaker and ultimately I'm still gonna go there because they sell stuff I want. It does sour the experience for me though. So that's why 3*, say thanks next time I'll change it to 5* lol....

This has to be the best Asian supermarket by far. Plenty of choice and if you after larger quantities there is a commercial section with bigger quantities. If your hungry a very good Chinese restaurant upstairs. Been there many times after shopping for some Jasmine tea

Asian cooking, whether it's fried rice or stewed dishes, relies on salted fish as a key ingredient. For example, Chinese dishes like "Salted Fish Fried Rice" and "Fish-Fragrant Eggplant Casserole" rely on salted fish as a key ingredient. You can easily find this ingredient in this supermarket, it's reasonably priced, and it's from Thailand. I'm so glad it's here.

W H Lung is an absolute gem. If you're looking for Asian ingredients, this is the place to go. The variety is incredible – they have everything you could possibly need for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Indian cooking. It's a genuine one-stop shop, with a massive selection of sauces, spices, fresh produce, frozen goods, and even household necessities and cooking utensils. The option to bulk buy is a huge bonus for stocking up the pantry. I can spend ages just exploring the aisles. Highly, highly recommend!

I love, love, love this shop. It has loads of variety. There's fresh produce as well as tinned, bottled and frozen. Theres also lots of kitchen ware. They sell the best and spiciest packet noodles (Mama), the crispiest crispy seaweed and the best Chinese curry sauce paste ever (Goldfish Brand). The staff are lovely and helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

This review will be an overall review of the supermarket. Overall I give this a 5/5 and the main thing and the only thing I could consider as an improvement is the location (due to it being somewhat close to the middle of nowhere in terms of trying to get there, you either need to drive, take a train to sandhills which is about a 10 minute walk to the supermarket, or live close to comfortably get to and from). Another good thing is that it's nextdoor to the greatly renowned Tai Pan which will be covered in its own review. But you can always go shopping before/after you eat some good chinese food!. W H Lung Supermarket is by far the best chinese supermarket in Liverpool, it's massive for a chinese supermarket and has massive varieties of asian ingredients, so many different foods and drinks, everytime I want to shop for chinese foods/drinks or anything oriental, i'd come here over every other chinese supermarket in Liverpool. Counters/Tils - There are 3 or 4 til's, usually only 2 would be used unless it's very busy (then more will be used) or if it's close to closing time there may be only 1 til open. Fridges/Freezers - There are many freezers for frozen food, fridges for drinks, massive freezing rooms for anything needing the storage (massive boxes of frozen chips, seafood, etc), and even a massive freezing room for fresh fruit & vege. Warehouse - There is a massive costco-like warehouse at the back where you can buy other products such as large rice sacks and other things. and each aisle in the supermarket would be full of the type of product it is selling (an aisle for snacks, an aisle for food etc). Customer Service - The customer service is impeccable at this supermarket, i'd come back after not coming back in a few months and some of the employees still remember me (for my habits of buying so much drinks haha), and sometimes recommend me some if i've never tried them before. Hygiene and Inventory - Hygiene is what you can expect from a supermarket, but this in my eyes is cleaner than most (english & chinese). Most things are sorted in aisles as explained before so it's quite easy to find something you're looking for, ofcourse if it's not there always worth asking before assuming they don't have it. Overall - I do recommend this over any other chinese supermarket in Liverpool, to me it's like an asian costco and has most things you'd want to find, a lot of people come here (of different races/ethnicities) and do their bulk shopping like they would in costco.
