James was our server, very polite. Food was lovely. Gave food a 4 star because we had the profiterole sharer for dessert and however it was mainly chocolate ice cream. Otherwise no complaints

We came for Tea tonight hyped up by the fact the railway had re-opened following a major refurbishment. We were quickly seated and we soon ordered which consisted of a bacon cheese burger and a triple stack. After a wait due to it being busy our food finally came when it came it was well presented and piping hot, both burgers were very juicy and very flavoursome. We then ordered puddings which consisted of sticky toffee puddings and if you have a sweet tooth they are made for you. NOW TIME FOR THE GRIPE Whoever is in charge of staff rota's needs to give their heads a rattle it's a Friday night and there's about 5 staff on they were absolutely frazzled the place became rammed we went in at five and left the place just after 7. The staff deserve better

I popped in for a pint after a longish walk. I wanted to have a look at this pub after it's refurbished and reopening. I must say that it looks far better and it's very smart. The two young members of staff that I spoke to were extremely pleasant, friendly and polite. I had a pint of Greene King IPA and it was excellent. As good as it gets. And at £4.20 a pint, a bit of a bargain these days. I'll certainly be popping in again.

I visited the Railway 23rd December. Myself and friends decided to have a pre Xmas lunch out. I've previously been to this pub a few times before. On my recent visit the place was much the same . The staff are polite friendly and service was efficient. Regarding my meal of 8oz rump steak. I wasn't that impressed. I request it to be cooked medium. It come out well done. The steak itself was really tough lots grissle and rather flavourless. Seems like the quality of the meat they are using has dropped,I've previously had steak in this eatery and it was much better. My friends meals was ok they had a burger and a chicken baguette sandwich . If I visit the railway again I'll definitely not chose a steak. Apart from my meal I can't complain as my friends enjoyed their food.
