   We use this hotel for our London getaways, as congestion charges can be avoided. 4 minute walk to the train station and £50 at the time of writing for 2 returns to the Westend. Stunning location. A very classy pub/hotel. Beautifully decorated at Christmas time. I have to say the full English breakfast was exceptional. This place ticks so many boxes. The only negatives being that we were told that the doors were locked at 12, unless the porter was on duty. So not ideal. And breakfast could be extended to 10am for a much needed lie in when away.

   I stay in this hotel multiple times a year and have an overwhelming positive experience every time. Comfy beds, hot baths, great food and drinks at the bar downstairs. Only request would be to allow streaming services on the TVs would make it a 10/10.

   We have a lovely time every week with my uncle, who is disabled and wheelchair bound. The staff are always lovely and helpful. Today we had excellent table service from Rene who was extremely helpful and accommodating. Would absolutely recommend a meal and a drink here at the least

   Lovely service from all the staff, and in particular from a young woman I believe to be Jess (based on similarities to other reviews). She was engaging, highly professional, full of charisma and the perfect host. I’m genuinely surprised she hasn’t been snapped up by a 5-star establishment for a front-of-house role — she would be an asset to any people-facing business. The rooms are beautifully dressed with a boutique feel, and overall the stay was very comfortable. My only small suggestion would be to consider upgrading the bedding materials in future. The bed itself was excellent, but the pillows and synthetic-feeling bedding became warm quite quickly. A move toward natural fibres would really elevate the guest experience and match the otherwise high standard of the rooms. Overall, a lovely stay and superb service — especially from Jess.

   We had a lovely experience, this was our first visit, service was lovely. Jess was incredibly attentive really friendly and had exactly the right amount of interaction with sense of humour. Food and value for money was also amazing. We will definitely visit again

   I had a cheese and bacon burger at the restaurant as well as beer and coffees. Everything was really nice. The burger was really tasty and the staff is very friendly. I will definitely visit again and recommend Ethorpe to my friends. Great job guys!!!

   We have stayed here twice now each for two weeks on trips “home” from the USA. Super location, a minutes walk from the town and five minutes from the station. The rooms are exactly as advertised and most importantly the food is excellent and (especially) the staff are superb. We will be back again!

   Hi Simon, in response to your question. There were items missing off the menu, which is understandable, however, these should be pointed out prior to ordering. No drinks were offered after the first order. Food was warm at best and not particularly nice. They seemed to have an abundance of rocket leaves which were over everything but not with a dressing, so juat dry salad. Skin on fish wasn't cooked, so slimy and cold. No offer of desserts, tea or coffee after meal. Waiting staff seemed to be unavailable for most of the time. Overall not a great experience.

   We are hoping to move to the area and booked a table in the bar yesterday for 5 of us and our dog. We were welcomed so nicely and everything was really great. Food was yummy, staff were lovely and we had a great lunch. Our dog was given a dog bowl and we just felt really welcomed and happy. Thank you for such a lovely lunch and service! We’ll definitely come back! Particular thanks to our wonderful waitress (I think her name was Ellie, forgive me if I’ve got that wrong!) Sorry - Kelly is her name! She was so kind and lovely and made our experience so great - thank you!

   Awesome place for food, came out extremely fresh and was beyond delicious. Our waitress was outstanding, she cares about the food being brought out, she had noticed there might not have been a dressing added to one of our dishes so she went out of her way to get more on the side just in case. One tiny thing I had wished for was salt and pepper on the table.
