   we are still in the middle of putting up howdens kitchen. I thought all started good. Rachael came to the house, took measurments (which later appear to be wrong), discussed what we wanted and how. I told her , I want all the area to be used to full potential and so on. So far so good. Kitchen arrived, the builder who was putting it up said it was supposed to be pre build, well , it wasn't. The few bits that were ready, was wrongly done, so he had to rearrange them. He spent good amount of the day on the phone with them, because of things not noted in the plan he got sent by them as well. Nearly few days wasted in delay , due to their mistakes, or nor complete info, when part of it was built ,I saw few big gaps(mainly one side of the corner cabinet) empty gap (can easily fit a child there) . I raised the issue with them, after speaking to my builder. He agreed it is bigger than normal, and said could fit bigger cabinet with small tweek, but now will take him longer , again, as has to re do some of the job he has already done. When spoke to Howdens regarding this issue, they told me "they don't discuss normally the dead spase , as when all build , nobody will see it". well, I know how big my previous cabinets were, and it is signiffically smaller. She called it miscomunication, I called it you miss to tell me info, I needed to know, and make my informed choise. Now to be sorted they want me to pay for their mistake, on top of what I already paid. Well not happy ! and not going to recommend to any one! big hassel, a lot of wasted space, didn't admit when mistakes are done from them! choose different company

   Just been with my elderly mother to look at the range here. The guy who helped us was outstanding! (Didn't get his name) He was extremely helpful and took the time to explain everything. I would definitely recommend this company and the guy who helped us. Many thanks Howdens.

   Howdens recently helped us out when we got badly let down by another supplier. They matched the price and got us a kitchen within 3 working days. The kitchen is excellent quality and the service from the team at Tamworth was brilliant. Our only regret is that we didn't go to them originally.

2. Tilly Wild & Free (Nessie) ★☆☆☆☆

   We ordered a kitchen and were recommended one fitter, and one fitter only, which we took up references. No cards taken off the counter, and we used this guy as our builder The Start 2 Finish Company. The assistant knew him from her previous branch in Stafford. He lives 40 miles from Tamworth. So not sure why he would leave business cards that far out, when his account is with the Stafford branch! He turned out to have financial problems, and tresspassed onto our land when we fired him, after ripping us off. He also kept switching off our camera's so we would not see him. We complained to the head office, and were told that I had taken cards off the counter, and the branch told me he was not one of their builders, someone is lying and it certainly isn't us. On top of that left us out of pocket and dumped all the rubbish in the garden. They now are not answering my emails, and wanting me to have a refund for the kitchen I have paid for in full, when I have told them I am still willing to have the kitchen. I appreciate the assistant was only trying to help by recommending someone, but this should be against company policy surely? I feel for her, as he has not just let us down financially and created great stress, but also her as he was a supposed friend I guess. Not good customer service.

   Good products but beware - poor after sales service from this branch! I don't write reviews usually but my husband and I are so disappointed in the after sales service of this branch of Howden's that we have been driven to write this. We have spent just under £11,000 with them on our new kitchen. I was so excited as my old kitchen was over 19 years old and I absolutely loved the images the designer created. We had a home visit to measure up, went in to see the ideas and choose everything. The designer was amazing and we couldn't thank her enough. However, unfortunately for us and the kitchen fitter (a brilliant local carpenter - SM Carpentry), aspects of the kitchen did not fit properly and to cut a very very long story short, Howden's management team were not bothered at all. They even told the carpenter "they're your customers, you sort it" after I had been in 3 TIMES to complain. They have cost us extra money for plumbing and plastering work which would not have been needed had they done their job properly. Very disappointed by their attitude.
