Sadly we made the wrong decision on my partners 50th birthday despite visiting the pub twice. Does not serve cocktails, menu had limited options available on the evening, service was slow and lacking attention to detail. Atmosphere was very quite and tasteless. Go if you want a casual Sunday roast. Do not go if you want to book a memorable family occasion. On a plus staff were polite and friendly.

I was with a group of 9 friends having lunch. When I ordered my lunch which was steak and ale pie I asked the waitress if it came with vegetables, she said yes. Then the meal turned up minus the vegetables. When I queried this she said "I have more than one person to serve and I don't read the menu". As a member of staff shouldn't you know what is on your menu? As a customer if she said vegetables are extra I would of paid for them. Then on my table when I went to use the pepper pot I found out it was empty. When I asked the waitress she brought another pepper pot but that one was also empty. I would have thought checking the condiments would be a daily task. We spent over £300 today and I would have expected a friendlier staff member. If you want us to come back a 20% discount off the bill next time would be appreciated.

We had a really lovely family Sunday lunch at The Leather Bottle this weekend. We were a large party of 11 and the staff were excellent. Very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. It was a lovely atmosphere and we had a great time. Thank you to Nicky, Clare, Ava and Tom who looked after us so well. Xx

First time visiting the Leather Bottle tonight and I will definitely return. Clare our waitress was brilliant. She explained everything when we walked in and was super friendly. Made us feel very welcome. The food was amazing. So tasty and well presented. No room for desert but next time for sure.

Food was to a good standard seemed very freshly cooked with a decent presentation. The menu had a lot of choice and the food itself was tasty . Only thing I would say is that I had scampi and the scampi was tiny all breadcrumbs and the smallest pieces of scampi Iv seen once i opened the scampi up but tasted decent enough the chips was the best Iv tasted. And my daughter had a prawn and cray fish salad hardly any prawns on it with the cray fish and far too many leaves in the salad but tasted good again. Desert was average we felt but tasted fresh had sticky toffee pudding it was very dry and not enough toffee sauce on it and a really small scoop of ice cream. Would I go back yes I would the service was very good and the restaurant was very well presented.id say this place is just over average give it 7/10

Just had an early evening meal here. Food was amazing and the service fantastic. It was quite busy but lots of staff to make sure everything went smoothly. We will definitely go back again. Highly recommend

Gastro village pub. Very food orientated. Tables and chairs, not what you might expect from the outside. Surprising arranged layout. Good outside area. I have lived in the area for 50 years, so seen many changes. The refurb here is positive. Would have given a five star rating if I had had food it looked good, but I only dropped in to meet an old friend for beer and catch up.

Great indoor decor and ambience. Nice layout with space between tables and staff wearing masks (this is posted during Omicron). Friendly staff and clean/polished look about the place. We had the Sunday roast (beef and lamb) and the haddock. Good portions and tasty food, though the rectangular plates were a little awkward (and limited the amount of food on the plate!)
