   What a fabulous find. Stayed last night in The Simmonds room. Fabulous clean spacious room with a massive oversized comfy bed, wet room with rainfall shower, fridge, coffee machine, fresh milk and cookies. Bath robes, toiletries and even wine glasses. We were welcomed at reception with a lovely friendly smile and guided tour from Kate. Breakfast was outstanding, I had the full english, top notch ingredients with the best scrambled eggs iv ever tasted. James was the perfect breakfast host and even sorted a breakfast in bed for the husband who was still asleep. Table setting was very special and everything was served hot with table service. House keeping lady was very friendly as we left. Plenty of free parking at the rear of hotel. We will definitely be staying again. Thankyou to everyone

   This was great little place. It is literally 2 mins walk to the town centre but was still very quiet. We stayed in the Garden Room in the Stables, which was lovely. It has its own little patio and garden with a table and chairs to allow you to sit outside in the evening sunshine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They initially told us the wrong time for breakfast on a weekend but corrected the error by putting a note under the door. There is parking at the rear of the hotel although the entrance through the gate is quite a tight turn and if the car park is busy it can be tight manoevuring in and out. My only slight criticism is that when someone is staying in the room over the Garden Room you hear every movement as the floorboards creak with every step taken. Other than that I would definitely stay here again.

   We booked the garden room which was great, really good space, large comfy bed, lovely private garden area, coffee and tea making facilities and a mini fridge with water and fresh milk. Shame this was located on the floor. Bathroom didn't quite match the quality of the bedroom but towels and products were excellent. Very conveniently located for the main town centre, and parking on site was easy. Breakfast was a bit disappointing to be honest, when you order toast, it's not acceptable to serve just crusts. Also, I asked if I could have some yoghurt and berries which were on the menu, it arrived at the same time as my hot breakfast and was enough to feed 4 people! Far too much.

   Oh my gosh what a find!!! My grandson and I stayed at St John’s House in The Cottage Room. It was immaculate. The bed in both rooms were so comfortable we didn’t want to get up!!!! The breakfast was unbelievable. I have never tasted scrambled eggs like the chef cooked them. Sent photo to my daughter she said they looked amazing. In the middle of Lichfield with own parking around the back which is a massive bonus. Staff so friendly. Hotel standards beyond belief. Will definitely stay again. As a regular visitor to Lichfield to visit family I have never stayed in such a lovely hotel.

   A one-night stay on a business visit. Great to have parking around the back. Easy walk into the beautiful town of Lichfield. The room was immaculate and well stocked with coffee pods, teabags, fresh milk, homemade biscuits and toiletries. A lovely breakfast menu served in very pleasant surroundings. Super friendly staff was the icing on the cake. Would highly recommend.

   We stayed here for 1 night only following the funeral of a dear friend in Lichfield. The family had an afternoon tea at St John's. The B&B could not have been more helpful on what was a difficult time. Staff were simply brilliant. Breakfast was excellent and not the usual buffet offer. Have to say that the porridge was the best we have experienced in a hotel. Our room combined the period charm of the building with the modern facilities that one enjoys eg the bathroom. Some aspects of the building are "quaint". If you are looking for something a bit different from the modern chain hotel room, then this is for you. A bit tricky to get into the car park but parking in Lichfield is a bonus. Not inexpensive, but worth it.

   Stayed last year and upgraded due to a heating issue, returned again this year and paid the extra to have a separate seating area, however due to another heating issue that didn’t get sorted until our third night made our stay disappointing. The thermostat control was in another room so when the occupants turned it down our heating went off, tried to sort it out but forgot to fix the pressure that would ensure the hot water would go around the system, so instead of using the seating area we wrapped up in the duvet instead. Staff were lovely, location was just walking distance from Lichfield centre, private parking and close to train station. Very dissatisfied that we paid the extra for that particular room and it was freezing cold. No compensation offered just sorry it took so long to sort out. Regular visitors, but will not be returning.
