Has gone downhill dramatically since I last used it. Breakfast was a very disappointing continental style with bread to help yourself from but no working toaster and no butter available and no one at the front desk to help. I will think twice about staying there again in future.

honestly if i could give this a lower rating I would. please avoid this place at all costs. ill start this by saying im giving them the credit that the stay was cheap, i payed around £80 for two nights which is still outrageous for the stay i had, but was considerably cheaper than other locations closer to the city centre, or in my case, the NEC, but uber prices two and from meant I payed more than I would of at these other places anyway so it wasnt worth it at all. I was in birmingham for 3 days and I live 5 hours away give or take. im a young girl who hadn't been out of my city before, so i was really worried. the entire time I was in birmingham i was staying in a place with no electricity in my room, a shared bathroom with all the other residents which was completely unusable (toilet constantly filled with feces, dirty shower that didnt get hot ((an ongoing issue for years according to the reviews)) light didnt stay on, smashed ceramic on the ground that didnt move my entire stay, etc.) dirty sheets, etc. the breakfast was from 6-8 am, so i wasnt up early enough to experince that by judging other reviews I was lucky to of missed it, especially after I went and looked around in the room it was served in to see a random pot full of mouldy goop just sat there? I had relied on leaving the hotel to find public bathrooms to use, and had to ask all my friends also visiting the area to use their shower but none of them said yes so.. I literally went the whole trip without washing. there are two bathrooms downstairs, the female one was out of order and locked my entire stay but one time I was so desperate I resorted to looking in the men's. it was considerably better than the shared bathroom upstairs, but was still vile to say the least, and going off of the cleaning checklist in there hadn't been checked/cleaned since April (its november) and frankly, again as a young girl i shouldn't of had to use the men's bathroom anyway! i left my room to try and find outlets in the hotel to charge my phone, but none of them worked either and were hanging off of the walls, which cannot be safe? there was also construction? going on the entirety of my visit, men walking through and banging on things, drilling at late hours, etc. hopefully this is some work being done to improve the rooms? I did like how they had wifi. thats pretty much the only positive, but because my phone was dead and i had no electricity in my room, i didnt even use that much. the staff i did interact with were kind, but that doesn't make up for the fact this place shouldn't even be legally open due to all the health hazards unfortunately. again, please avoid this place, just spend the extra money i promise it is worth it. when i was out on the saturday and the place i was at closed I literally cried at the realisation this was where I was going back to. thanks for reading, apologies for the ramble and poor photos, I couldn't take many as again my phone had no power lots of the time :) edit, I cant add photos for some reason?feel free to reach out on social media for them or check my video on this place, @scrrlets on all platforms

Honestly I don’t understand how this hotel has received any positive reviews unless they were fabricated or written under duress. I stayed here for six nights while working nearby, and the experience was nothing short of appalling. For the first four nights, I wasn’t even given a key card. Instead, I was met with a parade of flimsy excuses and indifference from the staff. The building itself is in an advanced state of decay: yellow, nicotine-stained walls; filthy carpets so encrusted with grime they crunch beneath your feet; and a rickety, deathtrap of a staircase that groans with every step. The sheets were stained, and not in a way that left any doubt about their previous use. As for the clientele, it felt less like a hotel and more like a halfway house. I barely slept, constantly worried my car would be broken into or that I’d be caught in the crossfire of a late-night altercation. At times, it genuinely felt like a stab vest would have been a sensible accessory. The so-called breakfast was laughably inadequate, meagre, tasteless, and served in a room that made a greasy spoon look like The Ritz. Hygiene throughout the property was non-existent. On one morning, there was hot water, just once but the shower was so vile I had to wear shoes to avoid direct contact. Just cold water It brought back memories of camping as a teenager, where flip flops were required, except even then, the facilities were cleaner. Unless you have an iron stomach, a strong immune system, and a fondness for squalor, do yourself a favour and stay far, far away.

So the person tending to me his name was : Pavel We came to the hotel , he answered straight away , he greeted us kindly. He gave us our documents promptly , we signed it. He gave us our keys. He constantly asked us if we're okay , reassuring us. We made it to the hotel fine. The rooms are nice. Pavel made sure we had everything we needed for the night. He deserves a raise after such work because usually when I go to a hotel , even nicer ones technically. I just don't get that kind of service and I feel like the hotel , thanks to him , has left a good impact

On Paddy's Day, there was a celebration downstairs where one of the guests obstructed one of the bar patrons vehicle. In the middle of the night, the the hotel owner (I assume) or whoever who had an master access card, started knocking on the hotel room doors, screaming "Housekeeping". As I was asleep, I woke up when I heard her knocking on my door, and I didnt really know what was going on and she proceeded to open my room door with her card, and asked me if I drove a white truck. I said No. And she went on to ask if I had drove here, and I said no again. (I mentioned this when they asked during check-in if I had a vehicle) and she went on to explain that there was a white truck obstructing the cars downstairs. And I said NO again, angry at being harassed in the middle of the night. I realised the door couldnt be locked from the inside, and it was mentioned by a traveller too. I couldnt sleep the rest of the night because I wasnt sure if there was anyone else who was going to barge in. The "free" wifi wasnt working, and there was no breakfast included, unlike what was stated in the booking. I got the first floor which subjected me to the noise downstairs and the awfully creaky floorboards upstairs. Despite the room and shared bath being clean, the whole experience was a nightmare.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Extremely poor and rude customer service. I've booked a room at this place prior to my most recent booking and upon seeing the room, I left shortly after (and stayed on a friends sofa) as the room was dirty and the lock on the room didn't look safe at all. I couldn't find anyone to talk to before I left so I called a few days later and was assured that it was a one off and wouldn't happen again. I then booked a room for this past weekend (as I was visiting on a Saturday night and it was by far the cheapest hotel in Birmingham). I unfortunately tested positive for COVID that morning so I phoned the hotel to see if I was able to get a refund for my booking as it was circumstances out of my control. The lady on the phone told me that it wouldn't be a problem and that she'd speak to her superior the following day and process the refund. I phoned today to check the process of my refund and a very rude man told me that he 'didn't care that i was unwell with covid' and that there was no way I'd get a refund. I politely asked him why I have been told mixed messages and he responded in a very rude manner before hanging up the phone. I know this place is cheap, but it is dirty, unsafe and the customer service team are horrible. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone.

The worst hotel ever. Needs renovation. I'm not sure how they get their license to operate. There is mould everywhere. No toilet on the floor. Shower is disgusting. Only the restaurant is nice with decent food.

We visited the hotel last Saturday. Not to stay but because they have now opened up a Chinese/English restaurant and take away. We booked with a little trepidation because the outside of the hotel is still very basic and in need of a tidy up. But what a surprise inside. The staff are lovely and the restaurant is very smart and spotlessly clean. The food was absolutely first class and so well presented. Restaurant staff are very pleasant and efficient. The prices are very reasonable too. All in all a great dining experience.
