really good location as it’s about 500 steps from the station which goes to new street in less than ten mins. hotel itself isn’t bad, the room was clean but a little tired looking but had all the amenities you could need for a weekend stay (towels, shower/soap, tea and coffee, lots of plugs + a television). no issues with the bed or comfort of the room itself but the walls are veeeery thin and we could hear people talking in the next rooms over and the toilets flushing too. staff are absolutely lovely :)

I was in Room 44 on the 2nd of this month. The place has no sound deadening at all. I am a contractor and I am there to work and sleep and it seemed that downstairs had his TV turned up to 11. Then I was aware of the smell of weed in my room. It was like cat wee. Someone somewhere was smoking, possibly room 45. Then, I was woken up by loud sitar music (wild eh?) and then the sound of a woman being ploughed and making a noise like an animal being slaughtered by someone with a blunt spoon. This was like I was in bed with them. Oh yeah, we had a pint and it was £8, when I walked up the stairs, there was this bloke sat on the stairs spitting on the floor. I cannot recommend this place at all. We're there to crack on, but it was just grotty and the people were even worse. Avoid.

It's an ok place to stay for s short mater of time. The rooms have paperthin walls, and it's some mol in the bathroom. I spotted beards in the bathroom, so it's not the best environment. But the staff was great, and the atmosphere was really nice. It's not possible to buy food there, that's a negative. But they have a great bar. Was very load in the weekend with club music and a big crowd. So if you like it quiet, this isn't the place for you in the weekends.

We stayed there for 3 nights and found bed bugs on our 2nd night there (and took pictures of them as proof). They changed our room quite quickly but then the second room had hygienic issues like dust in the drawer (they said it's most likely uncleaned cigarette dust), suspicious red spot (presumably blood) on the pillow itself (they also confidently mentioned they never washed the pillows, only the covers), there were unsanitary stains left in the toilet and no toilet brush, and the shower drain had old uncleaned hair. They said they'd call an inspection for the bed bugs and would update us after our leave and we'd only receive any sort of compensation if they found anything. Quite some time passed and we called them to check on the inspection and once they heard it's us they hung up immediately and told us to text them which we did, and to this day there's been no reply. Also it can get extremely rowdy at the pub area at night which is also right at the hotel entrance which isn't the most pleasant to come back to after a long day, and the mattress is also not very comfortable and you can feel the springs underneath. The car park is also quite small and if you arrive late there's a chance there won't be any space.

Reading the reviews I really thought it was a good choice. They have a car park, that is a good start, entering through the pub, with a good atmosphere and to reception. Waited to be attended and a lovely woman came, she explained everything very well and gave us the key for the room and the remote. Then is when the dissatisfaction comes. The room isn't as we expected. Not very clean, beds not very comfortable and a bit depressing. No kettle and small amount of toiletries. We watched TV and heard all the others doors with people talking loudly. Tried to sleep as better as we could. It was just a night out but feeling weird. In the morning the kitchen was closed as the cook didn't feel well so it was no breakfast. Looked for the way out, left the key and the remote in a box and left the place looking sad.

Pros - the staff are nice and it's near the station Cons - very noisy. The walls are super thin, and you can hear all the goings on from the pub and your neighbours. Their was a broken fire alarm beeping in our room all night. I told them about it the next morning, and they said they would fix it but they did not. Room doesn't have a kettle.

They downgraded my room without change the price. No soap in the room, small towels, no room cleaning, know the breakfast to be served 8-10 but no one to serve it. Worsts hotel I visited, even in third development countries I find better hotels, and I paid £135 for 2 nights, not cheap but mainly non adequate to the lack of services.

Went for one night, website says evening meal....doesn't say no food served on a Sunday. Website says breakfast 8-10....doesn't say you have to order the night before and we were never informed. Apart from the exit door slamming all night and having a bar underneath...so don't try and get an early night. It served as a bed for the night at not a bad price. It is near a busy road though and although it served our purpose, it is not somewhere I would stop again....sorry!
