I’ve always loved the grand for cocktails and pre dinner drinks. The ambience is beautiful and they offer a great range of cocktails and champagnes by the glass. However our most recent visit highlighted a drop in the attentiveness of the staff towards patrons. We were not met at the door or shown to a table. We ordered drinks but had to remind the staff and waited for 15 minutes despite it not being busy. Shame really that the level of personal attention has dropped.

What a fantastic hotel! The decor brilliantly brings together the old world charm of the building with at contemporary vibe. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. The breakfast menu was comprehensive. We also ate at the in-house restaurant Isaac's which serves great food. The hotel bar was chic with a great vibe. The central location and proximity to Symphony Hall, the ICC and NIA make the Grand hotel the perfect location for shopping and attending events in Central Birmingham.

The hotel has been refurbished and back to its Victorian splendour. Our room was very clean, spacious and the bathroom was well stocked with toiletries, plenty of towels and luxurious robes. There is a walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable and the bedlinen good quality. Plentiful tea and coffee, and a pod coffee machine. There were cartons of water and fresh milk in the fridge. We had drinks in the bar which was really buzzing on a Saturday night but the service was quick and cocktails excellent. The staff were very helpful. Our breakfast the following morning was excellent, plenty of options and all freshly cooked and tasty. We’d certainly stay here again when visiting Birmingham.

Amazing experience at The Grand. The Cabaret and Cabernet evening was fabulous, fantastic singers, musicians and dancers. The meal was delicious too. Our room was lovely, breakfast very good, especially the salmon and eggs with hollandaise sauce. All the staff were professional, friendly and polite. Overall a wonderful stay in an absolutely beautiful hotel.

Beautiful hotel in a great location, loads and loads of places to eat and drink within walking distance. The hotel was stunning, very well kept. The room was above average size, clean, with a comfy bed and pillows, and a great sized bathroom with a double sized shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel doesn't have its own car park but is close to the B4 carport and offered a discounted rate if you put your reg in the tablet at reception, which was a great money saver! There is also a jazz bar beneath the hotel which is worth checking out and is open late.

Absolutely love this hotel. This is my new favourite in Birmingham. So quiet considering its City Central. Love the decor and great having a huge chrome cast TV. I could spend hours in the shower and Molten Brown toiletries are always a bonus. Lovely bar too even if you're not staying at the hotel.

Really enjoyable stay with my wife, lovely big room overlooking the Cathedral, comfortable bed, great breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful at every stage and the cocktails in the splendid Madeleine's bar were great too. Highly recommended.

My family and I rented 2 rooms at this splendid hotel. We came from New York to one of the nicest hotels in Birmingham. I loved my stay here. It's located in a great spot, right opposite St Phillip's Cathedral and there are so many upscale restaurants and bars to choose from nearby. Our rooms were clean, bright and with great views of Colmore Row and the service was attentive and the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Of course, we had the full English breakfast, which was delicious and had many options. Loved my stay at the Grand!

I've just returned from another fantastic stay at the Grand Hotel. Everything was wonderful. Especially the staff. In particular Sam who served our cocktails in madeleines. He was great, so enthused and knowledgeable about the history of the hotel. It was a fantastic experience. We cannot wait to return for another visit. Well done to all at the Grand.
