We dined here before attending a performance at the Town Hall. So it was quite quiet at 5pm but it was nice and cosy and we were very well looked after. We had the early bird set menu which was very good value and was delicious. We'll definitely return for pre-show meals!

Absolutely fantastic location 5 minute walk to train station and maybe 10-15 to the coach station. Located in the mailbox which has other food and drink places. The rooms itself was very nice and clean. Had all the amenities you'd expect and a very nice breakfast in the morning, with a later finish time which we liked. Would definitely use again next time I come to birmingham. Even let us leave our bags as we were a few hours early.

Visited Malmaison Birmingham for a work meeting and had a fairly good experience overall. The hotel has a stylish, modern feel and the communal areas looked clean and well maintained. Front desk staff were approachable and friendly, which made arrival straightforward. The layout felt easy to navigate, and the atmosphere was calm and professional — suitable for meetings or business-related visits. The interiors are well designed, with good lighting and a comfortable ambience. Everything felt organised and well looked after, which gives a positive first impression. Overall, a solid option in Birmingham for business meetings or a short stay, especially if you value a clean, well-presented environment and helpful staff.

Nice comfortable room with all you need and good location. Check on the parking. You need to prebook the mailbox which isn’t clear and can be costly. Restaurant was amazing. Lovely food and staff excelled. Thursday was steak night - such value. Bar staff, especially the manageress, need a lesson in customer service. Waited 15 mins with no acknowledgement and treated like dirt when I dared to ask could I order one drink. So rude and dismissive. Such a stark contrast to the restaurant team. Really burst the bubble after a lovely night. Ironic given the bar was empty and soulless and she just had one customer to sort: If you take the bar out of the mix and nice place to be.

Enjoyed a couple of nights here with the family. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was good and the waiting staff were excellent. If I had to be picky, I didn't think that the reception staff were particularly helpful or friendly. As the public face of the hotel, this could be improved, hence four stars and not five.

The best hotel we stayed at our entire time in the UK. Friendly staff, great breakfast (finally tried black pudding), clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Convenient location, not just to Victoria Square, but also to the canal works behind the mall, which are an underrated and enjoyable stroll. Highly recommended.

Nice enough hotel in a very good location. Twin room 219 had been recently renovated and was very modern and clean. The bathroom was dated but clean. Very very good shower pressure. Great hotel to stay in for visiting the Alexandra theatre and Birmingham new street station. Parking at q-park mailbox was easy and reasonable. You can validate your parking ticket with them for a discount.

Rooms are nice, clean & spacious. (I stayed in a club room). Staff are nice enough, not over friendly but fine. Restaurant lacks atmosphere and the menu is limited. 4 mains to choose from if you don't want some sort of burger. Or 3 on the night we stayed. One item wasn't available even though we dined early. Which basically left a salad a fish cake or some pasta to choose from. The food was nice enough but when the bread came out we weren't given any plates so had to eat it off the table. I'd have asked for a plate but we were ignored when I tried. Overall our stay lacked the kind of wow factor I would have expected from this chain. We left underwhelmed with no interest in returning.
