I really enjoyed staying here, i stayed for 4 months and I feel safe the receptionists are friendly especially mohammed and Ajit they make us feel safe. The management is also good.

Only thing i can compare this to is Guest House Paradiso. This hotel was previously knows as Smithys Hotel and if you do a search on this you will see the true reviews. Lets start with the positives as there isnt many of them! Its around 12 mins drive to the city centre which is relatively close. There is also free parking. I was the only car parked which is probably because im the only one brave enough to book here and brave enough to leave my car outside expecting it to be there in the morning. Was welcomed by a african man who was friendly. He couldnt find my booking which was surprising because im pretty sure i was the only person to book there however i had used a company name so will not be too hard on him. On first impressions the reception was missing glass panels and some chavs were hanging outside. Proceeded to room number 30 after checking in and the lock barrel moved inside when using the key so you can tell this lock part has been replaced and my guess is because the room has been broken into before. Upon entering the room there was a window open that i couldnt close. The window was level with a courtyard with people there so anyone could come through the large window. So i wedged a chair against the door to stop someone coming in whilst i was asleep and for the window i closed as best as i could. I took a shower as it was a hot day, the water had hot water for a few secs and then would become cold - basic soap was provided. There was a horrible smell in the bathroom like a indian takeaway. The water coming out of the tap was yellow so i cleaned my teeth with some bottled water i had with me. Before i laid down i looked at the quilt. This looked like it had been through a tough life and in sections looked like it had been repaired with stitching. There was hairs and stains. I didnt feel comfortable laying on it so i took some of my used clothing and laid it on the bed so i could lay on top of that and put a tshirt over the pillow. I laid down for maybe 10 mins and this was about 12.30am. It was so hot but i had catch 22 situation to open the window and risk someone coming in or lay there sweating. I got up and went to bathroom to get my bottled water. When i came back to the bed i noticed bugs on the pillow. I then noticed more on walls. I felt disgusted but as i pulled up the quilt there was more underneath. I have prob spent over 2 years of my life in hotels and have never seen anything like this. At this point there is no way i can lay down again. I looked at my phone and started searching for other hotels close by. Thats when i saw smithys hotel which was the same address. Many people mention the bed bugs so at that point i realise its pointless to change rooms. I tried to sit in the chair but i felt disgusted and it was too hot. So i had another cold shower as was worrying i had bugs on me and then went downstairs. I told a indian guy about bed bugs but i got the answer i was expecting he would say that he had not heard this before. So i asked if there was a sofa and he pointed me in direction. I then proceeded to sit on the sofa till the morning. There was people arguing on the phone outside that was the evening entertainment and banging of doors. The people staying here are not guests for the hotel. They have been placed here by the local council. As i had been drinking i could not simply drive somewhere else. I had thought about trying to sleep in my vehicle but i thought the probability of police coming to this hotel is highly likely and i didnt wanna get done for being over limit in charge of a car. But the moment it hit like 7am and i was fit to drive i was out of there. No sleep atall so was feeling terrible in one way and happy in another way to leave this awful place. I pity those who are forced to live here. The place will get shut down at some point. The only reason you should go here is to make a youtube video of how bad it is. No other reason.

They take £ 20 deposit for each room. They also say they will give it back. But it's a trap. Their hotel room's things are very poor. So, if you accidentally damage something, they will act rude and won't return you the deposit. Think twice before you stay in that hotel.

The room was a 6/10 for 3 people but the bathroom was not cleaned at all with someone hair on the toilet seat and very mouldy but the beds are fine but the serious problem is if you stay downstairs you can hear so much noise and it wakes you up every time when you try to fall asleep not to mention you can just hear next door the room how there talking and it just fell really unprivate and around 11 o’clock there was a faulse fire alarm which wakes everyone up but my expirence for 2 nights was not that bad but for the price I do not recommend

Bed was uncomfortable and had stains on the pillow cases. Room was too hot with radiators at full blast so had to open windows which introduced traffic noise through the night so a rather restless night. Only one plug socket for 4 people. Hotel in general also had a damp smell to it

When we parked up there was a razor blade and used needle in the car park, booked for four people, only two towels available, two cups etc. Staff were rude about parking and parking instructions were unclear. Avoid like the plague

Stayed here Tuesday night for the machine gun kelly concert in Birmingham, reviews weren't great so wasn't sure what to expect. First of all the service from front desk was very good friendly and showed us to our room and whatever we asked for we got, they Also sell crisps and drinks at reception. Staffed 24/7 too. Room was absolutely fine clean and comfy beds didn't use the shower but was also clean, tv worked although small and only 2 power ports was a downside but can't complain for £30 a night. Heating was on too which was nice in a cold October night. Location is key for Central Birmingham taxi there was only 10 mins from hotel, free parking too! Thankyou

The receptionist was egregious and unprofessional as he said no visitors are allowed whilst guests are staying at the hotel. However, agreed to bend the rules by paying him an extra £20 to allow them on the premises. The receptionist an African origin, was very rude. Literally the worst place to stay or visit and definitely not worth paying for. The room conditions were diabolical! You are better off going somewhere else than here. The receptionist deserves to be fired. No manners at all, I was under the impression he was drunk or intoxicated! I had a horrible stay here. A lot more better hotels nearby that actually know how to treat customers with common courtesy and humility.

Plenty of rooms and a very quiet area. Beautiful garden. Bathrooms are nice and spotless. Could do with newer bedsheets (pretty please) and a fresh coat of paint in some areas. The guy at the Reception has been probably the nicest ever, super kind and caring.

The mattress was horrendous - it was cheap and hard with bumps sticking out here and there. It was very uncomfortable. The bedding was awful - the duvet was something I would expect to find in a third world refugee camp. It kept slipping out of the duvet cover and I would describe it as tacky rubble put together. The bedding (full duvet set) was similar standard. The shower didn’t work halfway through - first I ran it through for a while as I suspected that it may not warm up) and it seemed ‘ok’ however I ended up having half a shower - it stopped working. The service was terrible, guest service gave me the impression that they were doing me a huge favour and that I was more of a burden. It was the whole negative body language, tone and demanding behaviour. No manners whatsoever - they just want your money. Overall, an absolute disgrace and waste of space - better off changing the place into a car park or pass it on to better experienced and qualified hoteliers. I almost forgot to mention I barely had any sleep due to the loud machine noise (or boiler or something) throughout the night. This type of hotel is something you would expect find in a foreign country where they lack resources and technology. Avoid this place.
