Very very rude staff! Screaming at you at the door saying you can’t come in at 4:50 to get one item because the store is closed. Even though it closes at 5 on a Sunday. One lady pointed at me and ordered me to the till. Extremely unprofessional and unpleasant staff. That’s why I rather Sainsbury’s. At least they have nice staff!

Usually I wouldn’t leave a review for a Tesco, but unfortunately I have to state that the staff, and women who claimed to be a manager were extremely unprofessional and rude. Shocking to be honest. I’ve never experienced this treatment in any other Tesco. Everytime, I do my usual grocery shop I visit the Tesco in town which is friendly and accommodating. I have no idea what kind of breading ground this is.

I had a terrible experience with a female employee, apparently called Abigail, who was condescending and accused me of trying to buy alcohol for other people. She would not listen to me and continually shut me down and wouldn't let me get my cider. I had my ID with me but she didn't even bother looking at it and instantly denied me. I'm also fairly certain she sent security to shadow me whilst I was selecting my drinks. They weren't even subtle about it, the guard decided to just leave his post, walk down the alcohol isle and then go back to his seat for no reason. Totally not suspicious, guys. Just to clarify some things- 1) I was buying alcohol but I was in no way inebriated. 2) I wasn't rude or disruptive in any way. All I'd done is scanned the alcohol then stepped aside for assistance regarding my ID and this employee was immediately rude to me right off the bat. I hadn't had the opportunity to say anything to her outside of "Hi". 3) I understand places of business have the right to refuse the sale of alcohol for a myriad of reasons. But I was alone, had legal ID, was not drunk or being disruptive and was still accused and denied in a very rude manner. I've worked in retail before, including Tesco, and I've never seen anyone refuse anyone in a manner like this. Based on many other reviews here, it looks like this particular employee is consistently causing problems for customers there. I'd say avoid this Tesco and go to the other superstore in Chester, where I also went and had no problems. You can actually buy your items without someone treating you like garbage.

Lady on the front ID'd me for a red bull on self checkouts, my younger brother who is 16 bought a coke and is waiting drinking it and i walk up 5 mins later after walking around the store with a redbull she asks for ID which i have being also a 25 year old male then asks for his ID and refuses service, it was clearly not a proxy sale as he had a drink and he wasnt even involved in the transaction with no suspicion that i was giving it to him which made no sense at all when i asked for a explanation as to why she just said its the law, next time i buy a crate of beer with my 1 year old nephew ill make sure to also leave him outside the store incase he also gets ID'd for a proxy sale after he mutters his first words asking for a beer, very poor service wont be coming back

This Tesco is in need of a revamp. The scan as you shop guns aren’t easy to find, they’re right round the corner instead of being there as you walk through the door. Some freezers were broken. Good plant selection however, better than Broughton.

Queuing for a staffed till is still an issue having a physical disability doesn't count in reality , so I took my 1 item to and paid at customer services, passing police outfit security glaring. Ive already stopped using Broughton after being refused help at a till told "got no staff" . It breaks my heart seeing other pensioners struggling, No more Tesco for me. Love it now that Ive found better shops, with caring and helpful staff

Big store - plenty of choice. Get a clubcard to get best prices. Loads of parking spaces, trolleys usually in good condition. I live just over border in Wales so alcohol is cheaper here. Wales minimum 50p/unit. E.g. box of 18 beers £10 (with clubcard) compared to over £15 Wales. Worth the petrol money when buying a few boxes

Need more checkouts open. Sick of serving myself. I don't remember applying for a job there. Prices go up, service comes down. Also prices are regularly wrong.
