Often runs out of essentials + is quite hard to navigate for certain goods. There are better large Sainsbury’s around. The staff also seem very eager to finish on the dot so you can feel pressured to leave. Requiring a pound for the trollies is also a bugbear and again not standard with all Sainsbury’s.
Had to pull into the petrol station tonight 17/10 at around 6:30pm due to a flat tyre. Couldn’t manage to pump it up and the lovely man who was working at the petrol station (sorry didn’t catch his name - tall dark hair LOVELY man) came out of his way to help us and managed to get the tyre pumped up again. I can’t explain how much this little act has helped us, we managed to make it home safely without calling the AA and it was due to this man going out of his way when he didn’t have to! So nice to know people like this are still out there - a credit to your company Sainsbury’s! ❤️
Just wanted to say thank you so much to Neil who worked yesterday (~2pm, 06.08.2025) restocking the veg aisle. I asked for availability of scotch bonnet chillies, which weren't on the shelves and he found us later on to hand the new delivery to us. Thank you! What a great customer service :)
This is a large Sainsbury's branch. In addition to the usual supermarket fare, it also houses the Tu clothing range and a Timpsons key cutting and dry cleaning service. You can also collect items ordered online from Argos here. The café that used to operate on the first floor is now permanently closed. Externally, there is a wall of Inpost lockers plus two ATMs, one of which dispenses both Euros and US dollars. On the opposite side of the car park, there is a Sainsburys petrol station.
Not so big, Impressive. Almost everything available. Wines collection is very limited. Long queues. Not well stocked. Most of the crates were empty. Atmosphere was not according to Christmas season. Clean.
Hands down the one of the best Sainsbury's in Manchester. There's a large variety of foods and products here. They've even got a good selection of vegan foods, halal food and kosher food. The special offers and sales are great for people looking for a bargain or cheap groceries. The only down side I've seen to this Sainsburys, and the reason I have it 4 out of 5 stars is because of the untidy and dirty till and checkout areas. They've got boxes and receipts lying around all over the floor which I took pictures of for reference. Other than that, this Superstore petty much has it all.
I was having an issue with the nectar app. The person on self checkouts and the person at customer service at 8.40pm on 27/10 couldn't have done any more to be unhelpful, the latter even tried to blame me for the issue, and without a security guard in sight why I didn't just take all of my shopping without paying I have no idea. Would've been easy, a serious thought with such low quality staff around.
Excellent store. We went on a Saturday around mid day and we mainly needed fruit and vegetables. It was well stocked and clean and I got everything I went for. I gave four stars because the fresh sandwich selection was very limited choice but the items we chose were good. Also the trolley situation was poor. There was none outside the store so we had to go back to the car park. The trolley I found was quite old and dirty. This definitely needs to be sorted out. The staff were friendly and helpful and the wide aisles made it easy to move around. I would also have liked to be able to use hand sanitiser but couldn't find any. Overall I would recommend this store to others.
I've been coming here regularly for nearly a year now as it's the only supermarket I can easily get to, and every time there have been big areas of empty shelving, and they have been out of some of the things I need.
