To wander into Waitrose is to enter a dimension where a grocery shop becomes a sophisticated gallery of lifestyle choices. This isn't where one buys food; this is where one curates their existence, one artisan sourdough loaf at a time. The aisles, wide and immaculately clean, are a serene sanctuary, a place where trolleys glide silently, their wheels having never known the indignity of a supermarket car park puddle. The produce section, a verdant and glistening Eden, displays fruit and vegetables that seem to have been individually polished. Here, a cauliflower is not just a cauliflower; it's a "British Romanesco Cauliflower," a humble vegetable elevated to an object of desire. The clientele is a study in quiet, understated elegance. The "Waitrose Mum," a mythological figure in her own right, glides through the aisles in cashmere and well-worn leather boots, her basket containing only the essentials: a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, some organic quinoa, and a small, thoughtful selection of cheese. The conversations are hushed, a low murmur of discussions about dinner parties, school fees, and the surprisingly reasonable price of the wild-caught sea bass. The ultimate status symbol, of course, is the "Essentials" range. This isn't a budget line; it's a quiet nod to the fact that even the most refined among us must occasionally purchase plain flour. Waitrose is more than a shop; it's a beautiful, expensive, and deeply reassuring delusion that you are living your best life, one perfectly ripe avocado at a time.

Today i visited here to get some petrol with my children. I was unable to get out of the car as i have disability. My son who is 20 had to fill the car. As he went to proceed with the petrol the cashier immediately switched off the pump and shouted over the speaker phone that "the driver should exit the car!" They refused to serve my son until i got out of the car. I have a blue badge in my windscreen which was clear to see. I believe me and my family were racially profiled and treated disgustingly. This is my local shell petrol station which i have used for over 8 years.. will never get my custom again!

Adhoc visit. I asked about any rules before entering used the sanitation cream. Made very welcome. Took my time to feast on all the lovely Waitrose stuff. First visit and very kind and explained closes at 11.00 pm and Fuel services 24 hours. Need to check. All very clean and all types at ground level suitable for wheel chair and swinging door. All safe under construction with roads and spacious area of a forecourt. Seating and tables elsewhere not seen. Obviously for safety purposes. Thank you.
