Absolutely appalling experience so far. My son has just moved into a Mason Knight student property and here are some of the problems that they are ignoring... 1. Rubbish all over the front lawn, left by the previous tenants and the cleaning crew that Mason Knight used. Yes there is a bin strike, but there has been no attempt to even contain the rubbish. It is blowing everywhere and there are pests nibbling on the organic items. 2. Unsafe electrical fittings, with live conductors. 3. Unsafe decking - rotting, falling apart, a real health and safety concern for the students. 4. A locked off toilet where the trap has dried out and therefore left an open path to the atmosphere in the sewers. The house stinks as a result. 5. Unsecured bedroom, leaving student vulnerable (old patio door with broken lock).

I have never received my deposit check after calling several times and sending many emails. Some things were positive, but I would definitely not recommend this agency.

Rented from these guys a few years ago. At the beginning of our tenancy, they put us in a temporary house as the one we were supposed to move into was being "renovated". Despite the temporary house being significantly smaller than the one we were moving into and the massive pain of having to move house twice in a month, Mason Knight offered no compensation or rent reduction. In hindsight, I can't believe they tried to charge us rent on a property we weren't living in yet - but we were students and they were willing to take advantage of our naivety. Don't believe the five star reviews, especially if you are a student.

NO DEPOSIT RETURN - CAREFUL My son’s tenancy itself went smoothly and the property was well appointed. The problem arose when it came time to have the deposit released. MKP refused to engage in any meaningful communication by email or phone, and they made no claims for deductions or reasons to withhold the deposit. I checked myself and confirmed the deposit was lodged with mydeposits.com in an insured scheme (meaning the landlord, not the scheme, physically holds the money). Despite this, the agent shows no interest in initiating the release—presumably because leaving deposits “in limbo” benefits them on paper and accrues interest on very large sums. They repeatedly ignore my son’s calls, but when I phoned from a different number they answered—until I mentioned the word “deposit.” At that point, they launched into an extremely scripted response and offered no details, not even asking which property I was calling about, which makes me suspect this happens frequently. Fortunately, I am a landlord myself and have a legal background, so I will pursue this formally. Students and first time renters, however, might easily give up and never see their money returned. In my view, this practice should be highlighted so others are aware.

I've recently started a tenancy with MasonKnight managing the property and I've been very happy with their service, particularly from Joy and Diana. They were friendly, professional and have been absolutely great with communication throughout the process. I've been very grateful for both of their help!

The experience I have had with Louise has been positive. The situation was my daughter and her friend were renting for one year due to university and as a guarantor it was important for me to be kept up to date with the rental progress. Usually students tend to go through student landlords which is a simpler service but this was all pre covid

I have recently been looking for properties to relocate for work. When I called MasonKnight to arrange a viewing for a property I was met by an agent called Quentin. He was very helpful and professional in every step of the process, from viewings all the way to submitting an application. He ensured all my questions were answered thoroughly and was happy for me to contact him if I had any problems. I honestly believe Quentin is an outstanding member and would highly recommend anyone looking for a property to call up.

Adrian showed my family and I around one of the properties listed by MasonKnight. I found his knowledge very helpful, stemming from his long-standing relationship with the seller. He was accommodating and I never felt rushed through the viewing. He was bubbly, chatty and very experienced. He was able to answer many of the questions we had and I got the impression he was honest. I would happily get in touch with him again to arrange more viewings.

Great service. Contacted MasonKnight as I had a property to let due to a relocation. Chose MasonKnight as friends had previously been tenants and was recommended. Louise has been great through the process. From the initial meeting, advising on the process and the move in of the tenant, has all been stress free. They arrange pictures and advertising, but also supply furniture and ensure that your property is compliant for future tenants. I was informed when viewings would happen and she took care of everything. Always replied to emails for any questions or clarifications I required. All round has been a great experience and would recommend.
